The Position

Milo is an employee at a CD retail chain who is facing hard times. He isn't making enough to cover his expenses, and he's being scheduled less and less often. The only solution presented to him is the full-time manager position that's been open for a while, but it's one he doesn't want to take if he can help it. What's a wage slave to do?

This is a very short vn, at best ten minutes long, that I wrote at the request of a friend. I wanna thank Jake for the quick and outstanding work he did on the sprites for this project. It wouldn't have been put together nearly as soon as it did without his efforts. And, enjoy!

I'm loving how the sprites look against the BG. The screenshot makes me think of the Nintendo DS game Hotel Dusk~

Currently downloading~ I'll put up my opinion after playing ^^

Not what I expected.

Drake's games are always so good but I did not like this one at all.

There wasn't even any music.

I didn't even get the meaning of the story? Can anyone explain it to me?

to Wright1000: a slice of real life I think...

to DrakeNavarone: "well-earned sleep" - ah, it's always so pleasent...))
The sprites are looking very nice. And the whole story reminds me of an old song - "Leisure-Boogie"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nVvw6BLX ... re=related (not the best performance, but the only I can found).
Here is the lyrics (I'm unable to make good translation myself, but some online translators might help):

I quite liked it ^^

The story didn't have much meaning outside of the story itself, but I really do enjoy slice-of-life. People should do them more often.

For the story, while it was very short, was reasonably well written and you definitely captured that whole retched existence of part-time employment. The customer especially had me reliving some rage. It is also quite relevant to where I am right now in my life. Trying to find a way to survive and succeed is quite hard -.- even if I am not that much of a bum. One thing I would have liked to have seen from the story is
some kind of resolution with Krissy. Brian was still at the store, the MC was looking for a job and the GM had been changed over, but I feel like Krissy was unresolved. It could be something as simple as running into her at the store and her saying she is doing such-and-such with her life. I just think it would have tied it up nicely.
I really liked the art, it reminds me of Hotel Dusk like Silversporksama said. It is a very nice graphic style and the monochromatic tied together nicely.

Overall, it has a nice ring of realism to it. It wasn't exactly a stand-out, but as a short vn it did hold together well.
