Re: Magical Diary (Sim/RPG) [Commercial]
Don't thank me, thank Valve.
Almost every indie developer in the world would *like* to put their games on Steam, but it's not an open market. We can't sell our game there unless they agree to carry them, and for most folks who ask, the answer they get is no.

Re: Magical Diary (Sim/RPG) [Commercial]
FINALLY, I was able to download it ^^ Thank you for the reply though.papillon wrote:Did you buy direct from me? It's possible that your download didn't complete (sometimes large files lose a few pieces when being downloaded so they end up corrupted) - try downloading from one of the mirrors, if those links are still active? (You should have gotten a couple of mirror locations in your email, if you bought direct.)
If those links don't work I can give you a new download link but I'll need to find your order so I know what version you got. Contact me either by email or private message with your receipt and I'll sort something out.
In general tech questions are best handled by email or my own forum http://hanakoforum.nfshost.com/phpBB2/ where we can give better advice faster - I don't always see things in this thread as quickly.
I really enjoyed the game, it was so fun~ I managed to got Damien ^^ It was cool !
Thank you for this awesome game~ *.*

Re: Magical Diary (Sim/RPG) [Commercial]
Sorry for the double post.
I just had to say that this game is AWESOME.
I played it like... 15 times now ? well. I got all the endings (friendship and romance), all the trophies, it was so fun.
Well, just to say I'm glad I bought this game. I'll play it over and over again~
Thank you so much papillon *.*

Getting spanked by Grabby was just... WEIRD haha I laughed so hard on this one.
Also, is there a way to get Big Steve for the May Day Ball ? I gave him the bunny, he showed up on Easter, but he didn't think of me on Christmas T.TWell, just to say I'm glad I bought this game. I'll play it over and over again~

It is possible to dance with Steve, but it's very tricky. Even trickier because it hasn't been added to the walkthrough yet.
After giving him the bunny, choose to relax during that one Saturday when everybody is snowed in, and instead of the "Steve runs randomly through the halls" event that happens without the bunny, instead he and Mr Hoppity should turn up to talk to you. Kissing Mr Hoppity at that point will allow you to think of Steve at Christmas.

Also, make sure you buy a lot of pastries at the mall food court, or your attempt to ask Steve on a coffee date will go wrong when you discover that the bakery has closed.

Re: Magical Diary (Sim/RPG) [Commercial]
I just bought the game off of Steam yesterday and am really enjoying it so far~!
But I'm having kind of a weird problem with it. If I minimize the game while it is running (or if I put another window in front of it), the game's screen goes all black. The music still plays but I can't see anything. The only solution I have is to force-quit the game and restart... this is a rather annoying problem for me since I tend to multitask while playing VNs D:

Odd. What operating system are you using? I don't think anyone has mentioned an error like that before... (I multitask too.
)
Does it help to hit F a few times to force it in and out of fullscreen? Fullscreening can sometimes reset graphics card weirdnesses.

I haven't tried hitting F, but if I have this problem again I'll try that and let you know if it works.

Re: Magical Diary (Sim/RPG) [Commercial]
It sounds like it might be a bug in the 3D graphics code (IIRC, Seven changed a bunch of stuff in how 3D is handled, *and* Steam hooks into the 3D pipeline to implement its overlays.) or in your video drivers (or in the interaction between them).teacup wrote:I just bought the game off of Steam yesterday and am really enjoying it so far~!

Check Options: Advanced Video Settings to see what graphic driver it's using; if it's using GL, there's a possibility that the game will handle backgrounding and minimizing better if you tell it to use software mode instead.

Re: Magical Diary (Sim/RPG) [Commercial]
That seems to have solved the problem. Thank you very much.

Best visual novel ever!
A mix of VN, dating sim and rpg elements, allowing you to create and customize a char... brilliant!
Sequels are must.
Not only that, but this game made me consider creating my own VN in a similar (kinda Harry Potter/Magical Diary clone
) style. So far, studying renpy, and gathering resources...

I had heaps of fun playing this, worth the replays
. If not for the boys, for the toys-- err spells that is. I really loved how the dungeons offered multiple solutions rather than just one to pass..and well I loved a lot of other things!
I experienced quite a money saving problem though but that could be just me- I only ever managed to buy the shop items that I really wanted like the wings towards the end D: and not long enough to really enjoy it but oh well xD;
Imagine my surprise when Professor Grabiner actually has attractive qualities once you get to know him o.o He was the last obtainable I was rooting for yet he turned out pretty cool :3 A nice surprise indeed!
Well done Hanako Games.Avatar made by xSugar-ZooZoo

I rly enjoyed the demo -played more then once- but I'm completely sad that I can't buy it... It's more because 1: don't have money and 2: don't like in USA or near there. So So sad!!
But I rly liked the art and the story (more so that you can construct your future)
