@Takanashi: Oh wow, thanks for the huge compliment! We're so glad that you enjoyed the game so much. To clarify, we actually got Lazcht of stellar-Ø to do the stock GUI. Err to explain what that means... I talked to her about the theme of the game and said that I wanted the GUI to give off the impression of an Italian restaurant. I sent her the Olive Garden website as a reference, so you can see pretty well where the color influences came from, and various packs of vintage vectors for her to use in the designs. So we went back and forth... For example, the textbox used to look like this:

Image

(that's a BG from BCM, by the way, haha... none of the RisAmo BGs were done yet at this point) And once Auro and I were happy with the design, Lazcht sent us two PSDs that essentially looked like this:

Auro and I tweaked those PSDs and then used various elements of them to create the other screens (such as the main menu, bonus screen, etc). So while Auro and I did a lot of work on the GUI, Lazcht was the one who initially designed them. :3 That's pretty much how it is for BCM, too.

I'm personally really happy that you liked the writing, of course. XD It was difficult for me to write so much so quickly so I always fear that there are a lot of mistakes and issues with what I've written, but I guess that can't be helped... While the prologue was meant to be cliché, it's not like I wrote it to be absolutely detestable, so I'm glad you didn't hate poor Lily* too much in the end. The time transitions were a bit tough for me to come up with, actually, and I know some people thought they came up too often, haha. XD; Writing dialogue is my favorite part of writing, so I feel like writing for VNs is a good fit for me since I get to do that a whole lot.

Thank you so much! Please do look forward to BCM. I don't think we have enough female characters to make it into a GL game even if we wanted to LOL...

I'm sorry if I'm reviving this thread so many months after the last post, but I was told it was okay to do it.

I think that this is the first game I downloaded and played after I found this forum. And just like many people said before me: I felt so trolled! XD
I was totally expecting a GxB game, and BAM, end of prologue and I find out I'm gonna play as a guy?! What is this??
But lord, am I happy you trolled me. I think I probably would never have considered playing your game if you had openly advertised it as
a BxB/G game.
And I would have missed out on so much fun!

As I played, I found myself getting attached to all characters, which is rare for me; there's always one or two characters I like more, but in RisAmo, I loved them all equally.

It's been a while since I played it, so I won't go into the details of the story, but congratulations to Camille for the awesome writing and programming, and to Auro for the breathtaking art. :D To think you did all this in ONE MONTH is incredible.
Thank you so much for making this game and sharing it with us!!

Just stumbled across this, while going through the forum's "Completed Games". Downloaded and started to go through it last evening, had kinda lukewarm feelings about the Prologue. Went back this afternoon, and discovered the "real game". Still have one or two endings to get, but I have really enjoyed this experience; you guys did a great job - and in such a short period of time! I am off to look up BCM now.

Brilliant. Utterly, utterly brilliant. I loved how the prologue was just convincing and yet mundane enough, and then the post-prologue is absolutely wonderful, like a self-aware parody that simultaneously manages to create some real relationships and characters. I adore this entire game: art, music, and most of all, script!
Plus it's a rare game when I like all the relationships, besides the ones with Lily* obviously, but I ship Josh with all the characters. I do have a soft spot for Ethan, though, because he's such a sweetheart.

I named Lily* "Joshua" out of habit so I was really confused
when Pierre's name turned out to be Josh.
Had I shortened it to Josh I would have spent the whole game thinking the two would bizarrely share the user's entered name. Bet you thought this would never happen, am I right?!

I wish I could forget that I played this just so I could play it and be blown away by the twist again.

Just a quick note that the game is now available on itch.io so if you've been having issues with the download: http://cyanidetea.itch.io/risamo I've also updated it to a newer Ren'Py version so it should run more smoothly in general! Thanks for all of your support and interest!

This VN was great! The art was magnificent! Only one thing......
You should have told me (Or the players) that there would be a change of MC. I don't know why, but because I'm a female, I tend to space off whenever I'm playing a guy's role. That's why I brace myself whenever I want to play a VN or KN with a Boy protagonist. But in Ristorante Amore, after completing that.... ridiculous *cough* prologue, I was like a deer in headlights. XD I just stared at the screen like a mute person. I still continued playing, but none of the details goes to my head for some reason..

Okay, so I know I'm massively late to this party, but I figure if you guys do get to read this it might brighten your day even a little bit, and that's enough for me.

Long story short, I really enjoyed this VN. I really dig
parodies and meta stuff.
What I liked about this game:
- The bonus features and help feature fueled my fangirl feels.
- The endings were neither too easy nor too hard to get. Laura's love ending was the only one that stumped me, and I confess I needed the walkthrough for that one.
- I'm probably one of the dissenting voices in that I actually enjoyed the prologue. Yes, it was over-the-top, but it made me giggle more often than it made me facepalm. Lily* wasn't that annoying, except when she kept breaking so many darn plates.
- Liam and Laura. Both were somewhat fiery, volatile types, which I find really attractive. Ahhh I want more art of Laura. She's so badass.
- Smoking, crass Josh. He's quite ... sexy, really.
- The lack of emphasis on Josh's sexual orientation. It bothers me that it's bothered some players. Like, give the guy a break. So he feels a deep connection to another human being. So what? Gender is irrelevant. Well, I get that not everyone is so open-minded ... but UGH.
What I didn't like quite as much:
- The somewhat wonky art. But I've seen more recent games (such as The Elevator and Shadows) and the improvement is staggering.
- The characters lacked in complexity even during post-prologue, but I do understand that was just due to time constraints. Some routes definitely felt more rushed than others. The guys' routes seemed way more complete than the girls' routes, which was a bit frustrating since I wanted more especially with regard to Laura.
- Not enough smoking, crass Josh. He mellowed after the big reveal. He seemed rough only to Liam. With the rest, he was relatively sweet and mild.
- Ethan's post-prologue route was just okay. It still seemed a bit too otome-ish. But that's probably just me.
