The Visitor - VN [Classic Horror - Vampire][Worst VN2012]

The Visitor
Classic Horror
PG-13! -- What was originally meant to be a B-grade Horror spoof turned into a full B-grade Horror Story. While writing it, the plot became way more complicated than I ever expected with two well-earned characters deaths (off-screen, of course,) a couple of vampire bites, and more than a few characters getting their lights punched out.

Don't click too fast with your mouse! You may miss something!

Fair Warning: The commas and the Periods look identical. (It's supposed to be a Bad game, 'kay?)

Completed!!!

That's because it was still uploading to MediaFire at the time.
-- Stupid thing is 300MB in size. I had to open a Paid account for it.

It's ready now!

Shame I didn't know earlier. Skydrive is a good alternative. 7GB of free storage, 300MB max file size(2GB if you have their desktop app), no pop-ups, and completely free.

The #renpy IRC channel is a great place to chat with other devs. Due to the nature of IRC and timezone differences, people probably won't reply right away.

If you'd like to view or use any code from my VN PM me. All code is freely available without restriction, but also without warranty or (much) support.

[whine] I wish I had known! [/whine]
-- Anyway, the game is Now available for download.

I am taking your advice and uploading it to SkyDrive. Once the game is fully loaded, I'll replace the MediaFire link and close that paid account.

I will. And then I will edit this post so you can see that I did. And in that (this?) post, I will tell you about it. But not necessarily in that order. But most likely. I would do it right now, but I think downloading prohibited software is considered a major misconduct by my workplace. But it might not be. Who knows? I don't.

edit, because suddenly, typos

LOL! I'm in the club too. I edit, and re-edit, then re-edit my posts again, all the time. :)
I'm in no rush. Get it when you can, and play it when you have time. I can wait.

I love it--I love it I love it I love it.

It's like--if Stoker (vampire discrepancies otherwise) and Pratchett had a baby, then that baby decided to be a visual novel instead of becoming Irish Indiana Jones. though Irish Indiana Jones would have been cool too.

The first act reminds me of any of the Disgaea games--woefully inept bad guys who live in a cool castle and get up to shenanigans.
Then suddenly it's Phoenix Wright and there are more twists in the plot than a tesseract. An omnitruncated
tesseract.

Photo CG in visual novels usually make me feel bad, but it works so perfectly here~<3

I mean--I'm grinning through this entire thing, and you shouldn't do that, because oxygen gets into your mouth and causes bad breath.

But I'll do it anyway. Because I want a pony.

Yay! I'm so glad!

I love a good smart-ass. :)

Honestly? That's what I was originally trying for.
Then suddenly it's Phoenix Wright and there are more twists in the plot than a tesseract. An omnitruncated tesseract.
I actually know what all that means. Scary, ne?
-- Anyway... I wasn't trying to put twists in the plot. It's just that...to tie up all the dangling plot threads, I just couldn't make myself go the easy route. I simply had to use the most twisted answers to the story questions I could think of. (You should see what happens when I actually try.)

Thank you! Those really were images from classic horror movies. I just...mixed them together to make a different story. :)

I know exactly what you mean. I was grinning while making it.
But I'll do it anyway. Because I want a pony.

Omg. I already love this game. I'll edit or post again when I finish it, but truthfully I'm enjoying it immensely. As a film buff, all of the references are killing me. Uncle Chaney? Uncle Vincent? Uncle Boris? Uncle Peter? XD Amazing stuff.

I'm glad you like it!
-- I adore the old horror characters. Truthfully, I never even saw the original Dracula from the 1940's until I ran out of images and suddenly needed screen-caps to fill in some blanks. I fell in love with the old horror movies all over again.

I really like this game. The dialogue makes me feel like I am watching a 1930's comedy.

Hello !
I just thought I would drop by and say thank you, as I have really enjoyed your "game".
Well, maybe not much of a game, actually, but I really loved it anyway. I went straight to my little heart of old hammer movie fan.
I loved the mood. Excellent choice of pictures, perfect music, and great menus style.
I'd kill to get a sequel (with a bit more interaction maybe... A real game ? Could be really neat...)
My favorite ren py game in ages, clearly.

Just a small "bug", I think (warning : spoiler)
When you have to deal with the three unwanted "visitors", your three cousins come and deal with the first one (a), when two of them should still be watching the other "visitors"
It is silly. But didn't stop me from loving the game, anyway.

I want MOAR !!! \o/
(Screw the dating sims ! We want some classical gothic-lovecraftian horror whith crap jokes in it !!!! \o/)
