This story is designed to be read on auto (bottom right menu) though of course you can click to go forward if you like!

As most of you won't have come across my work before I'll give you some background.
For the last ten years or so I've been focused on animation (machinima to be exact!) However the first stories I shared on the net were made using 'The Sims'. Some of you might be aware that early sims fansites featured 'slideshow stories' using screencaptures from the sims game.
Most stories available were focused on teen angst, and not that interesting to me (I wasn't a teenager even ten years ago )
However, every now and then something more significant came along that really made me take notice, and made me aware of how powerful it is to be able to make visual stories and share them with others.
There have been novels which came out of this community on the Lemmasoft forums which give me the same 'wow' feeling, and inspired me to go back and have another go at those 'sims stories', except this time with more controllable tools. (slightly more controllable!)
My writing isn't very 'serious', but some have told me it sneaks up on you and packs an emotional punch, which , in my mind at least, can be the function of comedy. It sneaks into places, where more serious work couldn't enter.
This is certainly the effect I am aiming for, even if I frequently find it a challenge to achieve.

I would also like to start writing the plot of my story idea but I was confuse on what I should do first and I am also lacking of motivation.

I tired at first to write a visual novel (with choices) and I found that while I was able to plan it out, when it came to thinking about how to manage the project I was so confused I got really stuck.
So I made this a kinetic novel instead (straight reading no choices)
Most advice on this forum suggests keeping your first projects as simple as possible.
This is my second completed work, though I did release a fun quiz on another forum as well.
I think it takes a while to get your head around the format...and making something really simple helps with motivation (you can see the end) and with organisation...as there is less to organise.
I hope you do get started.

Thanks for the advice:) I was thinking of making a short VN first...but my story ideas were always episodic. I will try to make a short VN first and will look for an inspiration so I can start immediately.

I uploaded this completed novel to a few extra places to see how many readers might be open to the KN / VN format.
One thing that really interested me was that the curator of Freeonlinenovels.com placed this story in the romance section, with a graphic tag, rather than the graphics / comics section;

As a non anime novel, in a VN /KN format I have been unsure where to find my readers and this gives me a clue.

Nearly all the other books on that site are techy tutorial types, but the site owner is very open to new things. I don't want to write and ask for a new *visual novel* 'tag' just for me, but if anyone else want to join me in uploading to sharecg I'll write and ask.

I've added Tea for Two to the Virtual Novel Database also, as it appears to fit their criteria, despite being in a non-classic (3D) format.

I got the length wrong at time of upload and don't seem to be able to edit it now...unless you are a a tantric reader, this should only take you 30 minutes ..not 2 hours

I haven't yet been approved for the renpy games list itself http://games.renpy.org/game/tea_for_two but I'm assuming that's just down to being in a queue, rather than any issues with the novel itself.

Any ideas or obvious omissions for places to upload welcome.

Most of the feedback I have received so far has been positive, with my '3D' friends being surprised and intrigued by Renpy itself. Although T42 is a Kinetic Novel, many have been fascinated by the idea of having a go at a 'write your own adventure' type game and I'm hoping I might have encouraged at least a few of my friends to have a go.

I hope you enjoy reading my work. I'm a little short of feedback from regular kn / vn creators, and your thoughts are very valuable to me. Your insight would be very welcome, even if your feedback is critical, or you haven't read the whole piece.

Looks like a cool game. I will hopefully download it later, tbqh, I want to download it now but I have to go out to visit a penpal of mine. We've been penpalling for about two years now, and I am so excited to meet her.
