The Loop [thriller/puzzle]

#1 Post by Greeny »

A lonely writer wakes up in the middle of the night. He doesn’t feel like he’s about to fall back asleep, so he gets up to have a drink.

Something doesn’t feel quite right though…

What he doesn’t know is that he’s in a loop, stuck forever in an endless loop of the same mundane events at the hands of a mysterious ghastly clown figure.
But not everything is as it seems… There are clues, riddles scattered around the false world of this insane dream, and it’s up to you to guide the protagonist
into solving the puzzles laid out before him and escape from the loop!

Gliese Productions proudly presents its first official project!

The Loop is a gameplay driven Visual Novel; you will have free roam of the different dream worlds as you try to solve puzzles and riddles…

And avoid deadly traps!

It features multiple difficulty settings: Crazy (So even your mom can play), Insane (Just the right amount of madness) and Demented (If you want a one-way ticket to the looney bin).

Additionally, certain actions will win you a trophy, each of which unlocks a part of the super-secret hidden image gallery!

Save often, and in different slots! You will get tricked!

Congrats on your first release! Been waiting for this to come out! <3

Downloading now, will play it tomorrow and offer feedback. I have to say, the image of the clown in the title looks absolutely gorgeous. He's so horrifying and scary, love the glowing red eyes.

Are you planning on posting a walkthrough any time soon, by the way?

I'm really interested in this game, but...
Let's hold back from playing it until tomorrow MORNING.
Heck, if I play this at night, I'll have problem sleeping

Yay, I've been looking forward to this! I love puzzle games and I do enjoy a good horror every once in a while, so this should be lots of fun. :)
I'll come back with my thoughts later!

Hori shet downloaded and played it, I died on the easiest difficulty setting XDDD
It's kind of a little confusing at first though, when the past-midnight events just keep redoing itself over and over again.

The sounds (and the moment where it lacks any sound at all) really builds up at the suspense, I daresay this is a job really well-done!

I don't really like how it forces itself to full-screen though D:
Then it refuses to accept my pressing the esc button for no reason.

(It might be me and my bad computer though, I don't really know)

interesting game.

But it's too bad, that i have to delete the persistant data, it's annoying to be stuck in the infinite loop during the 1st "test".
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

My first VN project : The Season's Dance (the title might change). More info soon.

Really interesting game, I've played through it once on the easiest difficulty...died several times anyway though.
The ending is disturbing...<.< The player character with the clown makeup <.<
I had to rely heavily on saves because of that but it was a fun and challenging experience.
The last few parts were especially hard, the dialog with the clown, the challenge room....randomized numbers, good one and the timing on shooting the clown.
Good and fun game, I will try it on the other difficulty levels sometime.

Thanks for the feedback!
Are you planning on posting a walkthrough any time soon, by the way?
I may write one eventually, but of course, I should give everyone a chance to suffer try it with their own wits first!
However, players who have completed it are of course free to write one for the rest!

In addition, I will be posting an extra mirror soon, if anyone experiences server lag.
At that time I will also be adding the game to the renai.us list, but I wanted to keep it a Lemma Soft exclusive for a short while. ;)

This sounds serious - have you tried setting it to windowed mode in the preferences?
I'll look into it, however, when I have time.

I'm not sure what you mean by this - are you perhaps referring to room 409?
It's possibly a bug that we thought we fixed during testing - I'll have to take an extra look at it.

EDIT: I just got a PM from a player that revealed some worrying information! Please, remember to unzip the file before launching the game or it could cause issues with your game!

No matter how long I wait or how many times I try the download link won't work for me. Is it uploaded anywhere else?

I'm having the same problem, I think. I tried to download several times using different browsers and I keep getting a network timeout error. If you could upload somewhere else, I'd really appreciate it~

I found out what worked for me was to download it from firefox and when the timeout happened I would pause it, then continue the download. It worked for me when it happened 3 times during the download.
