Ohhh~ I like this very much. The way the lady appeared at the end of the quiz startled me though XD

I got Sci-fi, and I'm really surprised, since I'm not really into sci-fi stuff XD

I'm glad you liked it!
-- The focus of Sci-Fi (real Sci-Fi; not space operas which are more like high-tech Westerns,) isn't necessarily on Science, but Theory. Or more accurately, how certain things or people act, or react, under certain, (and normally plausible,) circumstances. Another way of saying this, is that they're strong in Premise. Just so you know, Premise doesn't mean Concept; what the story is about. Premise means Point; what the story is trying to explain.

It was only obvious to me because I designed the quiz, so I know what choices will make certain results appear. ;)

There is absolutely nothing wrong with being a beginner. No author, no matter how brilliant, was born knowing how to tell a story. We all have to start somewhere. You're just lucky enough to be writing during the computer age where the world's largest library is available 24/7 at your fingertips.

It also means you have a good understanding of how Not to give away the "punch-line" of a story; what's actually going on (read: the Plot) until the bitter end. That one SHOULDN'T give the plot away until the very last moment is something a lot of writers don't seem to grasp -- even some professionals.

Go You!

True, but I'm pretty bad at plots.

Practice makes perfect better.
-- Seriously, the more you write, the better you get. (No one is Perfect.)

One way to help you figure out Plotting is by looking at your favorite movies and asking yourself:
-- "Does this Ending really fit the story?"

Never Forget: Ending = Punchline
-- ALL events and characters need to work toward the Punch-line. If it's not part of the Punch-line, it's extraneous, and superfluous. In other words: Not Needed.

If that ending Does fit the story:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Can you reproduce this Ending with a different Setting and a different cast of Characters?"
"How will this change the Story?"
"How will this change the <new> Characters?"
If that ending Doesn't fit the story:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"What kind of ending would fit?"
"How would the main Story change to fit a different ending?"
"How would the Characters change to fit a different ending?"

Experiment! Experiment! Experiment!
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Try taking a classic Tragedy and turn it into a Comedy!
-- Don't forget to change the Setting and the Characters! You only need the story's Outline --the Plot-- nothing else.
According to your scores, you're probably really, really New at writing fiction.
-- The choices most likely didn't fit because you have yet to establish a writing style that fits into a particular genre. In other words; you're writing Creatively -- outside of the rules for publishable fiction. Scoring a 9 in Literature, the 'MarySue' and 'GaryStue', (self-insert characters,) in Characterization, and the 'VeryStrong' in Novelty are dead give-aways.
Just so you know, Novelty is a measure of how much your writing breaks the rules of Fiction writing. 'VeryStrong' is the highest score you can get.
Don't Panic!
-- Time and Practice (lots of Practice,) will fix this.
I got Comedy too, but I'm not sure it counts because I can generally make tests like this come out like I want even if it's just the first run through. It did show that I suck at plotting correctly though.
This is also my first post, so hello all :)
LOL! If you're an experience writer, then of course you're going to realize what genres the answers belong to.
How odd... Comedy writing Relies on careful plotting. One must make sure that all details and events connect to the Punch-line of the story, (the Ending). If it doesn't, it won't make sense.
Sweet quiz :)
I got a tie of sorts between science fiction, fantasy and children's lit. It was really hard to decide how to answer some of the questions, I'm not sure if I'm really that big on descriptions of places and such in my actual writings, but I guess my style varies between stories
Welp, I got mystery. No surprises there. I had a tie-breaker question though. Must be for Romance and Gothic that had a three.
What shocked me was that I got a 0 for Fantasy. I find it odd since I've been reading a lot of fantasy books when I was younger. Not to mention I've always been attracted to Fantasy RPGsXD
This was really fun and maybe I'll keep this in my hard-drive and replay it to see if something changes after a few months. Thanks for making this~ Now I'm tempted to make a quiz-type mini game for one of my VNs, but that would make it so complicated. XD
I'm so disappointed with my description score... and my rather mediocre Characterization and Drama score. ;A;
Edited because I just saw Taleweaver's post. ;A; I'm so sorry for my mistake. D8
