Time Labyrinth is a visual novel/dungeon crawler. The story is about a young man and his dog traveling back in time 10 seconds to avert a tragedy. This was team mochalematazi's entry for Ludum Dare 27. It was done in 3 days, so sorry about all the bugs and typos.

Ten confesses to his long time crush, Angel, but little does he know that the world’s out to ruin their date. The first problem seems to be that his dog Seconds is tagging along too, and after that it all goes downhill. Luckily Seconds can time travel 10 seconds into the past after exploring a deadly maze. It’s gonna be a long day.

Congrats on the release! :D Everything looks great (I recognized chocojax's coloring and Tag's lineart when I first saw it haha) and well put together, especially as it was created in 3 days, and the concept is simple but really intriguing. I'll be sure to download it and play it this weekend!

Yeah, Azure let me played the game and I lol'd at the deaths.
This is certainly black comedy gold.
I sacrificed Seconds, it's sad but I have to be firm about saving her and not quit halfway.

I played the web version :) this is very good, I really liked the story, the characters.
The endings were bitter sweet
, I really like that!!
I sacrificed Angel. Yep, a dog counts more than a girl.
I had fun and I laughed many times :) Thank you for this game!! :D
There were a few typos but hey!! Done in 3 days?? Wow, congratulations, it doesn't look like it has been done in just 3 days! O.O

Very amazing visual novel, especially considering the time it took to create this! Graphics were great, backgrounds were detailed (I loved the ducks in the park!) menu design was wonderful. Nothing to complain about at all there.
Some of Angel's deaths were very bizzare... I started thinking that she wasn't normal at all, even if "accident-prone." So in the end I preferred saving Seconds over her. That was the most satisfying ending for me, accepting the fact that you can't change fate. And Angel's ending left a bitter aftermath as you had to sacrifice your dog and the orphans!
But as for the dungeon part...

There was a web version? *facepalm* I happened to overlook that. That would have saved me the trouble in the dungeon part.
I do enjoy RPG elements, but I had some difficulty when the encounter rate started becoming ridiculous. Enemies appearing after you use an item or save the game was a little annoying. And the enemies combined with being confused and lost in the dungeon (I suppose that was the intention) pushed me to the point of irritation!
I did like the fact that Seconds' health decreased after each dungeon, showing that he is getting weaker.

Well the downloadable version also has some other extra features (including the duckies  ).

Sorry about that. :( There wasn't really any time for balancing (or even testing). I only fixed the critical bugs shortly after the release, since changing the gameplay after Ludum Dare was over would be bending the rules. We are planning to release a post-Ludum version soon, which will have more balanced and less random combats.

    screenshot0101.png

  • Added game help
  • Better looking backgrounds
    ParkAll.jpg

When was the online version released exactly? 27th, like the offline version? I'd like to add the correct date to the VNDB release entry, but I cannot find it mentioned anywhere.

It was a fun game to play! I really liked Seconds.
For the ending where Seconds decides to protect the others, at first, it seems like Seconds runs away from Ten because he's upset. The reality was that he actually ran away because he was about to die right? I loved Seconds, he was so kind and heroic, also adorable.
In the ending where Ten saves the orphans, he was really sweet and understanding. He really became less selfish.
The ending where he ends up with Angel was really cute. I love how confident she became!
I love food.
