Nachtigal is a short otome game by Cyanide Tea. We have made it "pay what you want" in the most literal terms—you can even get it for the magical price of free. If you do not wish to or can't pay for the game, all you have to do is put in your email address (Gumroad sends you a link to the game as well so you don't lose it), enter in a $0 amount, and then press Give. This will take you straight to the next page where you can press Download.

The story is about vampires and has a touch of horror, but is mostly pretty fluffy. WARNING: This game contains a mild amount of gore in one of the bad endings, along with some violence throughout. (Trigger warning: suicide) Player discretion is advised.

There are six full-length endings, two dateable characters, and 11 CGs in total. As usual, all writing/programming was done by me, Camille, while all of the art and UI design was done by Auro-Cyanide.

For more information about the game and all the download/purchase links, please see the official website.
The game contains 1,483 dialogue blocks, containing 19,881 words and 107,864
characters, for an average of 13.4 words and 73 characters per block.

The game contains 11 menus, 140 images, and 23 screens.
Nachtigal tells the story of Miranda Namatgira, a bright college student who travels to Belgium for a holiday. One evening, she loses track of time while sight-seeing and becomes lost in the woods. Just as she's about to consider camping outdoors for the night, Miranda happens upon a hauntingly beautiful castle. She decides to venture inside, but nothing could have prepared her for the bloody sight she beholds there...or for the two vampires who capture her.

Wow this sounds very interesting and the art is great as always. I'll definitely pay to play when I have the chance.
Would you by chance have a suggested amount :'D? I never know what to give when it comes to situations like this.

Hi guys :)

You don't need a credit card to download the game. If you do not wish to or can't pay for the game all you have to do is put in your email address (the site send you a link to the game as well so you don't lose it) and enter in a $0 amount and press 'Give'. This will take you straight to the next page where you can press 'Download'.

As for how much to give, that is totally up to you :D We won't be offended or anything, we much rather people to play and enjoy our game. The option to pay is basically a donate option except we get to give something back too~ We have had a couple people ask to help out with donations and this is a way we thought we could do it. You can even play first and then donate later if you want to see what you would like to give.

If you can't pay but would still like to help out, we would be really happy if you could help spread the game so more people know about it. We make games so people can play them after all!

We will love to hear any feedback as well~

She does spend the vast majority of the game locked in a castle, so. XD

Great game! Love the graphics especially the GUI. Very well designed and polished. The colours go so well together and the patterns fit the atmosphere very well. I love graphic design and the visuals in the game are amazing. The fancy cursors is a nice touch and is still easy to use. Sprites are wonderful so are the CG's. I felt that the music fit the game very well.

I don't have a credit card so I didn't pay for it but this game (and your other games) are very high quality :) Its on a commercial level.

The romances were very cute and the one scene
Where Adrian loses at strip poker
is hilarious.

Miranda is great character. She's pretty spunky but not overbearingly so and is pretty relatable.
Some of the bad endings are pretty gruesome like the Pet ending and Feast ending. I liked how vampires were portrayed as both horrifying and like a regular person. It fits my view of what a vampire should be.
Got all the endings but the fourth one. Hints please?

Finished it all a bit ago <3

Auro, girl you're CRAZY I have no idea how you churn out so much art >>; TEACH ME HOW! ;O;
The colouring was lovely! You still have some anatomy issues you have to keep ironing out, but I loved how expressive everybody was and the blood... omg <3
I told you already you're getting so much better at CGs! :)
My fav CGs must be...
The Pet and Feast ones :'D So scary, so powerful... great job there, safdsagasga. I also love the 3p and the promo image with Miranda laying on the floor smiling :)
The writing was really fun, I really liked the characters and their interactions! I laughed a lot, and the very serious parts were... scary.
And the Pet and the Feast endings... sadgdadgasfagsf that did physically hurt :'D Same with the biting parts, they had me shivering.
Great job, Lore! >w<
Also great job at coding everything! :D My competitive side makes me want to learn to code like you dsfdasg XD

Onto personal preferences, I think I liked Adrian more, but I like Luca's design more, haha. And Miranda is just <3

Oh, right, and lovely choice of music!

I read somewhere that the premise/story would have benefited from a longer game, and I agree, just because I'd have loved to read more of it x'D

Great job and congrats on the release! :)
