I downloaded this the other day and played through it to get all the endings in one sitting, which I guess isn't too impressive since it wasn't a particularly long visual novel, but I was really curious and couldn't resist!
I actually find it kind of funny because from what I've read people have had problems getting Ending IV and that is actually the very first ending I got without even trying ^_^;; (which is probably my favorite ending, just because it is so adorable XD) I especially loved the CG for it <3
I am going to fangasm just for a second
(who am I kidding this whole post is fangasming)... The little phases of the moon "clock" in the top left corner *flail* I loved it. It's such a small little detail but it was perf.
I wanted to say that in terms of actual romance I preferred Luca, but honestly now I'm not even so sure. I loved them both.
...this might be why I liked Ending IV so much unfunf
I think in terms of depth and discovery as it were, Adrian's path is probably the best.
That moment when he confesses getting his memories back and tells you who he really is...
But gosh I love'em both.
I really liked Miranda, too. She cracks me up, ahahahaha
*remembering her thing with the busts*... I could really appreciate how accepting/positive she remained throughout the whole ordeal, despite the circumstances.
To answer the questions regarding the CGs:
- How did the CG fit in the scene?
I think that they all fit really well and portrayed exactly what was going on in the scene.
- Did it illustrate the moment?
Most definitely! I got a sense of just what Miranda was feeling/going through, and I think that the expressions were especially evocative
...like when Adrian flings Miranda down on the bed and he just has this menacing look on his face or Miranda's look of sheer surprise with Luca, and the sad endings were really gut-wrenching...oof, my feels.
- Were they interesting to look at? Why or Why not?
Yes ^_^;; Eye candy at it's finest. I'm trying to practice drawing more myself, so I found myself looking at all aspects (Anatomy, Clothing, Light/Shadows) for awhile just studying <3 I guess this may just be me not being great at anatomy but I didn't see any glaring issues with that (I know you said you weren't interested in comments about it but it looked fine to me!)
- Did you think they helped with the narrative? Why or why not?
I believe they did, just because they matched up perfectly with what was going on in the narrative but being able to see it actually happening just made it all the more powerful and evocative.
- Did you feel that the emotions expressed by the characters were genuine?
Pffft Luca only possesses two emotions: annoyed and super annoyed! haha kidding :3
I do! Some examples of the ones I think did especially well in making them look genuine are Miranda's surprised/dazed expressions, Ending V... hell, they all did a really great job.
- Did you feel any cognitive dissonance between the image and text?
Nope, not at all.
- Did the CGs connect well as a sequence when you were on a route as a way to progress the story?
Yup, for sure. You can definitely see the bond between them growing stronger through the CG's
One last fangasm moment but I really loved the music for the project as well, it really fit the mood and atmosphere, which really made it all the more immersive.
Great job all around! <3
I will say that if you were to ever expand on it I would love to see more with the Family :3
I admit that I am one of the folks who downloaded for free, and I only did so because my bank account was recently closed due to low funds/no activity. I can easily say that I would be willing to pay for this, probably upwards to 9.99. I just think that as a whole it was really polished and the presentation was spot-on. So yeah
Thanks for providing the community with a wonderful visual novel and I can't wait to see more work from you two!
Ugh sorry I kind of fangirled and ranted XD I WILL SHUT UP NOW
