There's a problem with a certain part of the game.
I got an error code when doing the route where Maurice's wants to get rid of Madeline.

Code: Select all

I'm sorry, but an uncaught exception occurred.

While running game code:
File "game/script.rpy", line 2675, in script

This error also seems to cause the game to continue even though, at least I think, it's suppose to end after you get this ending.

Just thought I'd tell you the error

Besides that, I got some of the other paths fine and they were not only funny/scary but enjoyable :)

Oof. That slipped by in playtesting. Curse those last-minute changes, and thank you for notifying me!

Gonna upload a new script.rpyc ASAP, and the new full version right after that - I often have trouble uploading large files. ETA: 6 hours from now.

Huh. This was really unexpected from you, but nonetheless I quite liked it! :3 If I wanted to do a mini spiel on my thoughts about this novel, where would I put it? I don't have a website or anything. ^_^;

Ooh, the premise looks very interesting. I do so hope I get to date dead people! Yay for maggots! ;) I will download it and let you know what I think!...And judging from what other people have said, probably end up needing to ask for help with endings as well. ^^; Hopefully I won't have too much trouble!

The endings are pretty easy to get, no worries. This isn't like my usual games, it's made to be very accessible.

Also, unfortunately, this game does not contain any maggots. :)

Okay, that is a huge relief to hear. Successfully reaching multiple endings is tragically not among my peculiar skill set, despite my best of attempts.

What, no maggots? ;) Hehe, I have a feeling other aspects of this game will assuage my disappointment quite excellently. :)

It has finished downloading now, but I'll wait until tonight to play it. For me games, like books, are always much more fun to venture into at night. :) We'll see if I can wait that long for this... 8)

Finished the game. Really liked it.

Fist, I enjoyed how the setting was in the New Orleans. It makes me want to visit there someday.
The music was excellent in the game as well. I love Jazz/Blues so I kept the music on the whole time I was playing.

The writing in the game was nicely done and never dragged on like it does in some games I've played recently.

The story was excellent as well. It was the perfect length for a game and has good tension so I never got bored when reading it.

As for the characters I really liked Maddie. She had spunk but was curious about the guys she met. She also was a good character in the fact that she helped each guy during there path and, even though she was put of that they were
dead
at first, she still did her best to solve there problems.

Adam was my favorite guy. He was really sweet in a way and I loved his cool attitude. The only things I wished was a little different was that during his path we learned that
Bearnard put his heart in a box and that's why he was so attached to Maddie.
I know this part was for Maruice's path but it could have also fit well in Adam's path. But besides that, Adam was a really good guy and I loved his path. His true ending was bitter-sweet for me and I liked it.

Don is my next favorite character. He's such a friendly
ghost
who reminded me of
Casper
. I'll admit though that he's path was the scariest when you made the wrong choices. Fist
possessing Maddie
, then
turning into a Wrath (Which is actually really sad)
. His true ending has to be the saddest ending in the game yet the happiest.
I was actually really glad that Adam and Don went to Heaven and were free. Just was a little sad that Maddie was alone.
Maruice was an okay character. Liked how he was French because that made him more attractive and how he was usually helping Maddie, even if it was to prove something.

Overall I loved this game. Just the The Dreaming, it was really fun to play. Thank you for such a fun and great game :)

To be honest, I can't figure out how to get that ending. I've gotten his good and
Wrath
ends so far, but not that one. xP

Never mind, found it. :)

EDIT: Uhh, I've got Maurice's best and worst ends so far, but I can't think of the combination of choices I should make to get his remaing end. :S

EDIT: Aaaaand got all the endings! :D I must say, it was pretty convenient how
the requirements for each kind of end follow the same patterns.
I was able to figure it out soon enough. ^_^;

I have a bad luck streak were I always get the bad endings first and that's kind of how it happened. Was a rather shocking ending when she got
Possessed

Really nice story (I haven't finished yet). I have a strange feeling about the end. We'll see.

Btw, I've downloaded the 1.1 version, and there is no help file. When I click on "help" the browser starts with a "can't find the file" message.
