Finally got around to playing this yesterday night - gosh, it was fantastic! Loads of fun everywhere.
So, I got Don's bad end first. It was - frankly, it was terrifying. Especially at the end: "Run!" His moodswings and everything. brr.

Then I got Maurice's good end - he's such a spoiled-sweet guy, lol. Except when he kills Maddie after taking her blood whoops.

It's interesting how essentially, everything boiled down to: be nice to everyone you come across, and they'll be nice to you. (except benard. creep.) Different from lots of games where I have to, uh, shun everyone but one person or else I'll get the all-alone ending, haha. Not looking at Katawa Shoujo, nope.

Overall, great game, great mood, great everything. Loved the range of backgrounds we got, the music, and the art was so cute. Like - damn. A++ I approve.

Thanks for your nice words.
By the way, as you may have noticed, you can't be nice to everybody at the same time. More than once, the guys force you to choose sides between them, which makes the game a little more challenging than just "be nice to everyone".

I forgot to write up about this! I loved the writing! It was so unique how you got into everyone's head.
It was pretty obvious about Adam being from the 50s from the beginning, but that you had such unique mannerisms for him really made this a great VN.
It wasn't the usual brand of generic. You've obviously got a lot of talent as a writer and that's rather rare to see around these parts.
Can't wait to see what else you might have up your sleeve.

Just wanted to compliment you on the game; it was really fun to play! The writing was great, and the art was a refreshing change. Not sure which character is my favorite, but I am sure that you (and your team) did Burton proud :)

The only two endings I haven't managed to get yet are Maurice's bad ending and (I assume) Don's 'An Ending'. Any chance I can get a hint (even though I'm probably overlooking something obvious) on how to get those?

Maurice's Bad Ending isn't hard to achieve: Don't be nice to him but allow him to drink your blood. His normal ending (Heartless) can be achieved by being nice to him but not to Don.

As for Don's "An Ending", don't be nice to him, Maurice or Adam, but at least listen to Don's advice regarding Adam. After you did research on Don, his An Ending will follow.

Thanks! I think I confused his bad ending with his normal ending; now off to see how they play out! :D

What a wonderful game! I loved the art style since it was unique and really gave life to the characters and scenes (btw, how did you create those backgrounds?) and I ADORED the storyline. It was so unconventional and intriguing, and the dialogue was natural despite the supernatural circumstances. And of course, characters of color! I really admire how well you made this, and I was thoroughly entertained.

Image manipulation software. There are several pieces of software that take a photograph and "draw over it" in specific styles so that you can have, like, Van Gogh, or Mattisse, or Rembrandt paint your BGs.

The photo originals are from DeviantArt; I credit all sources in the, um, credits.

I just started playing this and I already love it! The sprites are adorable, and they have such expressive faces. The music and writing are great too. I loved the bit about the chemistry kit at the beginning that came back in the dialogue a little later.

Again, thanks! I tried to really make this entertaining in the more traditional sense; great if it worked out.

It definitely did! I've gotten almost all the endings now, and I really enjoyed it. I'll have to check out more of your work. :)

Hm. I haven't made any other games that are like "Romance is Dead", mostly because my VNs revolve around other themes than that.

If you look for something romantic, "Daemonophilia" may be your best choice, even though that one's BxG. (And a little raunchy.)

Again, thanks! It was my first try at a "real otome game", and I'm glad if you liked it.

What in particular did you like?

I loved this!! This was the first VN I've played where the main character has been my favorite character.
I thought she was down to earth and easy to relate to. And also, a black female as an MC! How rare and awesome is that?

The only thing I didn't like about this game was the interface. I thought it was nice in the sense that it was minimal, but it was sometimes hard to see and read.

Although it seemed a bit shorter than most VN's I'm used to, it didn't feel like it was too short. I played through a few times and love all of the characters, actually. The first time I played through I got Adam's ending where he jumps off a bridge, so I went back and got the wanderer ending the second time I played. I also adore Maurice, and Don is sweet and likeable as well. I will probably go back and try to get some of Maurice's endings later.

Also, kudos to you for the setting. As someone who used to live in Louisiana and has been to New Orleans more times than I can count, I LOVED what an awesome job you did building out the world and how each character's back story tied into the city itself. The setting felt real and I was happily surprised and impressed.

Also, THE ART! As someone who is working on a game with art that is not typically seen in VN's, it is very encouraging to see art that breaks the mold and is stylized & doesn't look like it's from an anime. Kudos to you & the artist that made this game!
