I like to think of it as Urban Fantasy if the urban part of the equation took place some time after the turn of last century.

  • - 9 endings
    - 5 CGs
    - 20+ backgrounds
    - Unlockable Extras, such as a music room, ending gallery and an extra credits sequence
    - Approx. 24,000 words
Mild cursing and blood. (Not always in that order).

And, if you like Sierra adventures as much as I do, the eight ways to die might be a point in its favor.

Story
Asher is a short visual story about a librarian—all right, librarian’s assistant—named Tetrine Reish who lives in the city-state of Asher. Things are going swimmingly (except for perhaps her brother’s debt/bootlegging problem and an ominous dream or two,) until a woman comes along asking for a book. Not a library book—that would be too easy—but a book that doesn’t belong in Tetrine’s library. The book turns out to be written in a magical script called Nell marks that only a few people can see, and Tetrine is one of them.

However, all her life she’s been told in no uncertain terms that letting on that she can see the marks is a Bad Idea. Which is unfortunate, because several people, two of whom have suspicious intentions, find out. A kidnapping and an attempted murder (or two) ensues, and Tetrine’s life will never quite be the same again.

Stars a mythical queen, amnesia & romance (more or less in that order), vampire-like supernatural demon-things, a silent film aesthetic, and 20% less blood.

A "skip" button means the choice to do something doesn't matter; it's optional, usually there if the player wants to explore the world or history.

About Asher
This was a learning project for me with both the art and writing (not to mention coding). Asher also went through various styles and renditions, hence some of the stylistic differences and the fact that the voice acting is rather minimal. EDIT: Now there are more voiced snippets. :)

So, anyway, feedback is very welcome. There is also an anonymous survey available via Google Forms here. Thanks for checking out my little project.

I just played it and it was SO good! It was creepy and good. The art is so also just as amazing, I loved the car scene. I got almost every ending but Markaius's last ending listed. How do I reach it?

Will you be making more games that will be from this game's universe?

I think this should work:
Avoid/reject him, but accept the bargain and memories
And the answer is yes! Asher was always written to be part of a greater series. I'm very glad to hear you enjoyed it. :)

@Hazel-Bun - I hear you there... the idea of testing endings/variables/points one more time makes me feel a little cross-eyed. And yeah, I'm disappointed about the voices, too. I am just too burnt out right now. Eventually I would like to go back to the audio files and sort them out.

@MaiMai - Thank you! Happy to hear you like the art!

@Green Glasses Girl - Yay~ :)
