Parasite Lance [Puzzle]

NOTE: This game was made in Ren'Py, not Game Maker or anything similar. It is not a troll entry.

(ver. 1.0.1)

A sweet-mannered office lady is kidnapped by a young magician and her undead clay helper. When her father bursts in to rescue her, he hands her a magic spear — which she must then use to fight her way out!

You may download the game here.

Okay! Some thoughts:

Not sure how I felt about the forced fullscreen intro. I feel like it would have been best to go straight to the main menu and -then- have that prologue happen. It made me uncomfortable that I couldn't switch out of fullscreen mode right away.

Heidi seemed concerned about her father's arthritis, but then he mentioned something like "even if I have a heart attack"... Maybe he was referring to his health in general, but the way it's worded is slightly confusing! It makes it sound like a related symptom of arthritis.

I'm very impressed by the character animations. I don't even have a slight clue how to do so much animation with Ren'Py. So cool!

This battle system IS EXTREMELY COOL. Maybe in the tut, clarify that you have to hit enter to submit your move (I didn't understand that at first and kept making blank moves, heh.) But man, I had a LOT of fun with it!!! Maybe make enemy turns go a little faster?——Wait, never mind, I realized tab makes battles go faster. I LIKE THAT.

No, seriously, that was one of the most fun battle formats I've ever seen. Very unique. Maybe I'm just weird because I think typing as fast as possible is really enjoyable, but I'd totally play a full RPG with a system like that. (Maybe as the game went on, it got more complicated, like you had to start typing from a certain point and certain keys had items or bombs on them... I'm not saying this game should have had that, since it was short, but if you ever decided to make a longer game like this...!)

Definitely gonna try the new modes I unlocked later. Great work! I finished it in a little less than an hour. I had a blast.

Thanks for your response, Cafechan. I've downloaded one of your games, and I'll play it later on and tell you what I think of it.
