iPad? More like sighPad, am I right?

Congrats on the release, just like to say this is definitely looking amazing and I'm going to throw in my excitement for a PC release.

I tried installing last night and... alas, it only supports 7.1. I'd prefer to keep my jailbreak, so is there any reason why you've made it require the latest?

Hope to check it out! Congrats on the release.

I had bad experience with last year when I was developing for the iOS 6* version. At one point Apple didn't allow you to submit apps which allowed the older iOS version. Today you can do 7,7.1,7.1.* - you can't post an app which is 6.* to the app store anymore.

True - I could allow 7.0. I'll see if I won't do an update to the binary.

-

UPDATE: If everything goes well I'll do an update this Month - I'll try setting the app for iOS 7.0 instead of 7.1 and also some small fixes.

BTW. please let me know what platforms you use everyone. I'm finishing the iPhone port & doing early prototypes of the cross platform port.

I had just shown up to ask about this! Thank goodness! I've been searching it periodically in the appstore for the past day or so.
The palette is really nice, really pleasant, and the ost sounds lovely.

I'm currently downloading it from the App Store, but I'll be sure to give you some feedback once I've played through it thoroughly.

Philip, all you have to do to download and run the app on your Mac is download iTunes for your computer. There are PC and Mac versions.

I don't think that you'll be able to do it without additional steps if at all - what you download through iTunes is a package that can be installed on an iPad.

UPDATE: it's not built on Ren'py, so you can't just copy the resources to a Ren'py project workspace and run it :)

It isn't built on Ren'py, what is it built on? I'm just curious.

Well I do apps and mobile software for a very long time now. I started out with a project in 2002,2003 that had to do with making a rescue system on as little resources as possible (think desktop in 64MB Ram). I'm an old school C++ 'hacker' :)

Now that I wanted to start publish myself I knew that I had a few options - Ren'py, and some other engines. In the long run I want to experiment maybe with UDK, 2.5D, 3D, add some platform specific functionality (social sharing and such), so I just did my own engine.

I opened up a thread here - http://lemmasoft.renai.us/forums/viewto ... 57&t=26542

It's not my first 2D engine I did, so it went quite fast.

If I had chosen Ren'py than I'd need to learn Python if I wanted to hack something in and I couldn't use my C++ expertise and than there's the ideas of where I'd like to take it in the future.

So in general I knew that for me myself (and I'm a special case I guess) it's easier to do a from-scratch 2D engine for iPhone, iPad in C++/Objective-C than learn to hack Ren'py / Python. Other folks might think the opposite.

Now I'm doing a port of the core of my engine to Cocos2Dx - that's also progressing.

I don't know if I'll open source the engine, or where to take it at this point. Let's see about that. It would make sense if I add more features, 3D and such.

I'm also being asked - why is iOS the first platform? General lack of VNs on the iPad and iPhone. I don't understand why almost everyone ignores that platform. For me my iPad is the best reading device ever :)
