The Sight of Autumn - v2

#1 Post by M12 » Sun Oct 21, 2007 10:50 am

The Sight of Autumn, version two, is here:

http://eltania.net/m12/assets/files/med_autumn_game.zip

All of the graphics are updated. I have devoted countless hours on revising the dialogue. Many people thought the original script was a bit short. Guess what? This one is even shorter. But I feel like I have made the right changes. Please digest each dialogue throughly. I think that's the best way to appreciate the work. After all, it's not a long tale.

Please check it out. Hope you guys will like it.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to include any author's notes in the program. Sometime in the future, I plan to release the notes along with some bonus artworks.

Thanks everyone.

One minor thing:
"What you'll soon lose, I've never owned. Instead of cursing your lost, why not appreciate what you've had?" should be "What you'll soon lose, I've never owned. Instead of cursing your loss, why not appreciate what you've had?"
I hadn't seen the original - I seem to have less and less free time for such things recently - but hey, I like it the way it is now. I suspect if it were longer it would also need more content, rather than just more scenes/dialogue, to keep the same feeling...

This was really a beautiful story.
So sad but at the same time uplifting.
Only criticism is that some of the writing isn't perfect, maybe a an editor was necessary to get it just right.

Lovely though, I'm impressed.

I updated the link. The new version now comes with the guide book. It's a SWF file, because SWF is compatible with both PCs and MACs. Please approve, and please do check this out! I spent a long time on this. Thank you.

That was a nice short story ^^ Simple but effective in its message, though a bit predictable. I liked the visual effects like the door opening, train whizzing by, clouds in the sky, etc. Those were a nice touch 8)

Thanks for sharing!

Thanks Blue Lemma. Yep, in the guide book, I also admitted that the plot is predictable.
Were you the one who made Shoujo Attack? That game is awesome !

How do you make your games? I see. Thank you for the prompt replies, but it is my considered opinion that you're doing it wrong inefficiently because I am a perfushenal professional. Do it my way this way and we can all ascend VN Nirvana together while allowing me to stroke my ego you will improve much faster. Also, please don't forget to thank me for this constructive critique or I will cry and bore you to death respond appropriately with a tl;dr rant discourse of epic adequately lengthy proportions. - Sarcasm Veiled in Euphemism: Secrets of Forum Civility by lordcloudx (Coming soon to an online ebook near you.)
