Isis, your average American teenager, happens upon a part time job opening at Café Rouge. During the day, it is a normal, quaint café and bakery. But when night takes over, it is transformed into a five star restaurant-theater-café, with live stage performances and first class customers arriving in the middle of the night.

As Isis delves deeper into this strange café, she becomes entangled in the mystery of its’ haunted world. Will she find friends, or enemies? Will she follow fate or make her own destiny? Will she find love?

Cafe Rouge was the first otome game I made with my friends in our little group, "Farway Studio". It was a project created from the passion and hard work of college student amateurs whose goal was to create a free online otome game with good storytelling, leading to its viral success with over 4 million plays these past two years.

This was one of the first otome games I played (before I didn't even know what otome meant), I randomly found this in deviantart and it was really magnificent. I remember staying up late to finish it, it sure was worth it though. When I was at third or fourth chapter, my best friend called me and I told her about this game, so she ended up playing this too ^^ Therefore it has a special place in my heart, being one of the first VN's for me and getting my best friend to sucked into VN world I want to thank you for making this game. It had really good writing, adorable art and cute fluffy love scenes. The thing I adored the most was the dark background stories though, I didn't expect a cute-looking game like Cafe Rouge would have a story like that. Dramatic stories are my favorite I guess, that made me like it even more. Make sure to play all routes, the story won't be complete until you see all of the endings, because everything is connected to each other, yet each one of them are different, so you don't get bored when you're playing a different route. (My personal favorite was Valen, yay for some childhood romance and auburn hair!!!) Kudos to your writer, really. How the story was presented is really impressive. All in all, it was a really good and heart-warming game (I don't know why, but even with sad parts like that, I felt good playing it. I remember tearing up at some parts though, haha.) I recommend this game to everyone, just go play it people, you won't regret it!

Mystery and love - that´s a brilliant combination for me. As I finished the first path, I wanted to know more. I had so many questions and wanted to understand everything what happened there.

Is there any chance to get to know who was the heroine and why they (and who) wanted her death?

First, I ended up with Valen (don´t know why, it just happened) though my attention was to get the Antoine´s path. Antoine´s path helped me to know something more about the story but I still have got some blank spots... I guess I should play another path to uncover the story better
Just one thing disturbed me

I didn´t like the biting. When it happened with Valen, I thought there will be some option for refuse him after all. I supposed it happened just by accident. But then Antoine did it too I´m sorry, I don´t like this part, I can´t help myself.

But I still like the game it was very interesting and catchy, I still must think about it

One question though: I saw that there are a lot of parts for Café Rouge. Could you maybe give a rough estimate of about how long each part takes to play through?

I'M SO IN LOVE WITH THE ARTWORK FOR THIS GAME YOU HAVE NO IDEA. <3

Buuuuut - I really only have one piece of constructive criticism, which is a preference more than anything else, but... I thought the main character seemed kind of fickle - or narrow-minded. I'm saying this as a reader/player who started off with Val's route and is currently in the middle of Ron's. She seems kind of immature to me, throwing away her friendship with Val for a secret she felt entitled to know. I really don't think anyone in this world is obligated to know everything about someone they care about. We all have our stories and her lack of empathy kind of bothered me, especially when she insulted Val using the fact he was a vampire as her basis - like, Isis, nooo! The romance seemed kind of rushed to me as well, though I can't deny I had butterflies in my stomach from... certain conversations and actions here and there, hehe.

Overall, great job! I played Skights a bit before and I'm waiting for the next update! Keep on doing you. <3

I remember playing this... it was really fun. At the time, I didn't realize it was part horror so when I was walking around at night,

the first time I got killed, I was thrown off guard. At every turn, I kept getting killed by some stalker

and I was then too scared to touch this game again lol.
