Lost Threads

#1 Post by yujovi »

Lost Threads

Joshua McDermouth. A young man, engaged to be married. That is, until his fiance dies in a fatal accident. Josh tries to change the past and prevent his fiance's death, and along the way, finds moments that he will treasure for the rest of his life.

Male Protagonist

M X F pairing.

Playtime: Not sure, 30+ minutes?

Created using Ren'py. This is only my first foray into actually making something, and for the most part is just an experiment with Ren'py to test the waters, so none of the artwork is mine. I am currently drawing my own stuff for a possible future project.

Windows and Linux version, uploading Mac version.

I removed all the music and video, as suggested in the Game-Makers' Corner.

[11/24/2007] EDIT: Go to the 26th post here to find the attached files.

Ok I tried to get it running, but nada. It seems different from the other Ren'Py builds. Are you sure it's the build? I seem to have all the files and the script and everything here so I tried running it using Ren'Py and I got a traceback with som errors. I hope this helps.

Which version are you using, cuz I can't test the Mac or Linux versions :(
I know that the Windows version is working.

I'm using the latest (Character Actor) version on Ubuntu Linux.

I tried to get it to work, but without success. I checked out the art in the game folder and it looks really good.

I loved it. I really did. It was a really fun piece. It's a little bit of a shame you did take out the music, but it wasn't missing much without it. I also recognized a few of the elements (the magic circle, the cherry blossoms, and the sprites too), but that kinda added to the experience instead of subtract from it. And there's also a personal reason why I enjoyed it so much (let's just say that having a magic user named Melissa did a lot for me).

Anyway, I loved it and burned through it in a real hurry, it was time well spent. I hope you make more soon!

I'm not sure if this makes a difference,
but try opening the options.rpy file in the /game folder with some kind of text editing software (don't have too much experience with Linux so don't know what that software would be).
then change the value in line 3 from True to False, and then save it
then try running it again.

Again, no clue if this makes a difference, since the Windows version and the Mac version (just tested it) both seem to work fine with that value set to True.

At least for me, the Linux version offered from download above works well on Ubuntu 7.10.
