Getting this game working was well worth it. I'm impressed with the story. A lot of twist and turns along the way. I usually don't like reading through a whole story without any choices or options but in this particular case, there was no down time. I never got bored.

One of the best stories I've seen using the Ren'Py engine.

A few notes on what I didn't like, or what could be improved. The text appearing one letter at a time is a nuisance. I have to click to get the text to appear and then again to switch. It's just a hassle and adds nothing to the game. The picture of when he finally gets back to 1905 has modern cars in it. You should change it. The odd man seems pretty one-dimensional, but I do like the ... well I won't spoil anything here, but I think you understand.

So overall a great job.

The dates scrolling between shifts works well too.

Usul, if you right-click and then go to the options, you can drag the text speed bar all the way to the right, and the text will all appear at once. I couldn't find a way to make it like that when you extracted it, however. :( Sorry! It was meant to all show up at once, not one letter at a time.

Regarding this, if there are any developers out there, I couldn't find a setting in the options.rpy file to change the initial text speed, cuz this seemed to be a problem throughout all the builds of this game that I've made. Is there anything in the programming script to change the initial text speed to full?

Last line:

Code: Select all

        config.default_text_cps = 2
How on earth?! Change it to 0. Or at least something reasonable, like 80.

I just started playing this... methinks it (non-music version) might qualify for the RAA.

What does "not work" mean? Does it give any sort of error message?

I've attached the newer versions of the game without the insanely slow text speed, and changed the value of config.developer to False.

I don't know if it's acceptable to be bumping a thread up like this, but I thought that I should let you know that every time I try to download it my computer tells me that the .zip file is corrupt. I don't know if it's my computer or the file, but I figured you ought to know. =)

It's a shame, I was really looking forward to playing this game. =(

Try this

http://www.renai.us/game/lost_t.shtml

I know certain download accelerators / browsers don't work well with forum attachments.

Renai.us is configured to disable download accelerators, as they strain server resources and are unfair to other users.

I don't know what a download accelerator IS, but either way, that link worked. =)
