Forget-Me-Not is a BL (boy's love) visual novel exploring the relationship two boys, Emmett and Michael, over a course of time.

Long ago, Emmett used to be extremely withdrawn and hated socializing. Michael had just moved into his neighborhood and wanted somebody to talk to. In a short, strange course of events, they met on a rooftop and talked for a little while. Emmett soon grew attached to the complete stranger, opening up and may have even considered him a friend. However, the summer friendship ended when Michael moved away, but left Emmett with a problem he realized he could overcome.

The dreamlike memory of the boy became so blurred to him, that when the same boy transfers into his homeroom sophomore year, he doesn’t recognize him at first!
They rekindle their friendship, which they quickly become close friends…to something a little more than friends. Emmett feels content with the way things have gone for them, but he can’t ignore the strange feeling that something isn’t right with Michael. There are things he doesn’t know about Michael, even coming so far in their relationship, that he can’t figure out so easily. What isn’t Michael telling him?

Whew, it's been a long time, but I'm pleased to say that Forget-Me-Not is complete and released to the public!

I want to than everyone for their abundance of critique, love, and support over the years and it means so much! This project has really come a long way and I'm happy to finally see it released. Even though this isn't groundbreaking or anything, not only did I learn a LOT while making this VN, I also had a lot of fun seeing it reach the end of it's release. In the future, I hope to improve in any other works I decide to create.

BE WARNED, there are some things in this game that may not be suitable for everyone!!! Though there is no visually explicit or detailed scenes, there are some parts of the game where certain sensitive subjects are addressed.

(ie: drugs, violence, depression, and mentioning of sexual abuse.)

If you are unsure about having to read something about that, please don’t force yourself to play this game.

There are three scenes with a flashing effect that's a little bit straining. If you’re worried about that, please ask me to upload a separate file without the flashing effect, I’ll be glad to do so.

To anyone who ends up playing this, I really hope you enjoy it, I've put in a lot of effort and will be grateful for any kind of feedback.

I just got ending 2 and I am very impressed.

Somethings I like about the game

1. The interactions between the main characters. It was billed as a slice of life game and it is exactly what it says. Both of the leading characters had believable flaws that is currently quite lacking in the BL department. The power of love didn't just magically make every thing okay and it was interesting to see them work out their problems. You managed to convey a deep kind of bond and care that, despite the lack of undying promises of love, was touching in its own way.

2. The art. It is refreshingly unique and original. (Although I must say...Roger got a great deal more unattractive. But that is besides the point.

3. It was long. It's been a while since I played an non commercial vn that is over 30000 words. So kudos to you.


Some criticism.

1. I felt Sky could have been expanded upon a bit more; Rogers great reveal also came a bit out of the blue.

2. I keep failing to get ending 1. So maybe a walk through in the future?

OMG, finally!
I was waiting for this game for some time, and here it is!
Wonderful, and, actually very sad. Real drama for sure.
I ended with 1st ending, and i'm soo relived to have it.

Thanks God, everything is fine. Alright, not everything. Вut I'm sure, Emmeth and Michael will be okay. This Michael kid really made me worry about him all the time! But he is alive and with Emmeth, that's good. And at the beginning i thought EMMETH was sad and pessimistic!

This game actually gave me a lot of frightning feelings. I mean, in good way.

1. I'm glad that I suceeded with that message, kinda haha. It took a while to try to write their bond and everything especially since they weren't together for such a long period of time.

3. I'm glad you like the length!! I know how sometimes long VNs seem to turn people off.
4. I feel you on those, I think I spent a lot of energy on Emmett/Michael sometimes that it would have been better to get in some more scenes with minor characters.

You're the one who made I want 2 be single, so I just had to play this in spite of knowing full well that it wasn't going to be anything like that one at all, not to mention my never playing a BxB VN before It took me pretty much the entire day to play through at a relaxed pace, getting the second ending just a little while ago.

I don't have any real criticisms for you, although I have to second what Amiralo mentioned about Roger. He was quite easily forgettable until that point near the end which just seems to come out of nowhere. At least that's the impression I got from the parts I saw; I don't know if taking a different path would have helped any or not. I'll probably chase down the other two endings tomorrow or something to see what I missed.

Thanks a lot for sharing this with us, and congratulations for seeing such a lengthy project through to the end!

Glad to see this follows the usual regulation of every male in a BL is either Gay or Bi or has Sexual encounters with another male.
(Except Jose, but who cares about him.)

Also, mercy Micheal was not what I thought he be! I thought he was going to end up being some rough, gentle giant, but all I got a drug addicted, depressed, suicidal, sexually harassing, cynical! Very surprising.

Jokes aside, I had a fun time reading this.

:Bug(s):
-There was a weird bug in #Ending 2, where there were two Rogers on screen when the bridge scene happens.
--Jingle Bells/Fantasy can't be listened in the music room.

:Nickpick(s):
-No Porn.

--No stupid, sexy Roger Ending.

:Good:
-Art is stylish and nice on the eyes, especially the rough sketch drawings.
--Emmet's a great MC. It was nice he kept his character from beginning to end.

:Bad:
-Spelling/Grammar when characters speak could use some tweaking. Description was well enough.
--Story feels a little clunky in certain parts, especially in #Ending 2 Route. Plot points seem too come and go with no closure.

In all, little short, kind of average, and not much else to say.
Ending #3 best ending though, this is a fact!

Okay, I stayed up all night to finish (at least one ending) and I got the first ending!
Argh, must play again to get all of them qwq!

So here's my review (this will be quick despite my feels still intact |'D)
although I may make no sense at all- I'm sorry in advance.

Well, one thing I really like is that it's pretty realistic.

Some might be triggered with the themes exhibited (depression, suicide, sexuality, etc), but on the good side others might relate to Michael a lot. So thumbs up for that.

I also like how Emmett handled Michael's confession, and how Michael took in Emmett's response and vice versa. Ohgawd here comes nonsense me but I just really like how the situation was written. I was torn between laughing or just seriously play b-b-but-- yeah- something like that.

I got teary by the end where Michael was in coma, was really lost and sad, it made me recall all the angst fics I've been meaning to write with that kind of theme, it hit something so I was just feeling melancholic last night awwww bby!!

This damage is on a good level though.

I can't really find the right words but I just love the game. I love Emmett so much and his character development.

One more thing, the scene where Michael went suave (as Emmett described) made me seriously swoon. I'm not exaggerating even. It made me just swoon, fell on my bed like a damsel in distress and feel my heart pump for a few seconds. Oh wow, that was really suave.

and I was laughing, their dialogues are just golden.
