Set in a ‘near-future’ on a fictional world, Ex Astris follows the story of Lanis Rosenberg, a newly graduated doctor working in the Loennian military. Doubtful of her abilities to cope in the army and lost with her direction in life, Lanis’ world is suddenly turned upside-down when she is transferred to the secretive, militaristic nation of Xian. There, she is assigned to a subject named A-28 'Ash'. An emotionless, unstable, biologically engineered soldier and her opposite in every way…

Having her elusive 'Astral' abilities brought out from their dormant state, Lanis indadvertedly uncovers a secret agenda held by her mentor. With unease and questions surrounding the Silhouette project, Lanis finds she has no choice but to blindly trust those around her, even if it means becoming a possible traitor to the Xian government.

I was hanging out for this. Had as much pleasure playing it as the first two chapters. Ash is so damn sexy. I also like the details you've brought into your chapters to make this futuristic world come to life such as the thick raincoats they have to wear when they go out and it's raining because of acid rain. Thank you. I had a ball.

I had to play the previous chapters just in order to remember the story.
I love it. However, Ash sometimes annoys me, but I want to see if that "emotionless rough boy" can fall in love with Lanis.
I like Lanis a lot, she's really an interesting character that develops a personality that seems pretty real.
I can't wait for another chapter to come out.
Do you know how many chapters will have?

Freshly after reading all three chapters, I must say the story itself is addictive.
Quite unpredictable with a rich background and, man, such a lovable protagonist (I feel in love with her after her internal outburst about coffee)! Moreover it's a nice change, that we all know already that Ash and Lanis will (or at least should?) end up together, heck they'll have a kid even, so we just wait impatiently for any kind of encounter between them. Though seeing how much Ash doesn't even grasp the concept of 'love' and Lanis isn't yet ready to warm up to him somehow (would you blame her, really..), there's such a long way to go.
And it's thrilling!
Thinking that he'll have to eventually open up to her and have a proper conversation, that he'll grow to care about her, maybe wanting to protect her, maybe disobeying even, makes me all giddy and excited!!
I'll be looking forward to the next chapter, for sure!
Also, the coffee part left me laughing, really nicely done~
And damn, Ash in his exoskeleton? Too. Damn. Hot.

Everyone else too! Thanks you so much. I haven't been getting any more e-mail updates for this thread so I didn't realise people were still reading and commenting! ^^;

To answer xEllenx's question about number of chapters, I'm not entirely sure yet! I'm hoping to have around 10-15. But it'll depend how fast things progress... or spiral out of control. XD I'd love to elaborate more and make it into a massive epic but I fear I'll lose many more years to something of that scale. (And I'd hate for it to become a chore!) So I need to keep it concise enough. I'm hoping to get faster at producing chapters as I establish more character sprites and settings.

I thoroughly enjoyed the new chapter.
It's lots of fun watching Lanis and Ash interact, and it'll be interesting to see their attitudes change as the story goes on.
Just a minor error:
Four sentences from the start there is a spelling error, 'hapiness' instead of 'happiness'.
