Ahh we did it! This was a collaboration effort between Kuiper and I, with him doing the writing and me taking care of the art. It was a long March but we pulled through. This game was heavily inspired by the Phoneix Wright series, although unfortunately no one gets to shout objection. We hope you'll still give it a play through though!
Story:
"Trial by Fire" is a short visual novel based on a mock trial case from 2009, "State v. Lane." The structure and gameplay is inspired by Capcom's Ace Attorney series, featuring a mix of courtroom drama and lighthearted tone. The game is split into two modes: investigation sequences where the player must question people and evidence, and courtroom sequences where the player must spot logical flaws and inconsistencies in the prosecution's case and expose them by presenting evidence.

Haha I agree xD I'd really like to make another one, but longer with a more intense investigation and court system. x)

I just played through this game, and it's a well done example of the trial-game genre. I'm curious as to how much of it came from the mock trial scenario, and how much of it you had to flesh out yourself. Am I right to assume all of the dialogue is original?
There is one bug I found. There's a map on the second page of evidence. If you hover it, the game tries to show evidence/mapdes-01.png, which doesn't exist. Rollback fixes the problem, but it's a bit surprising, as I would often brush the mouse over new evidence.
Thanks for making the game.

I'm pretty sure a lot of the story came from the mock trial, but all the dialogue is original! Kuiper really handled all of the writing though so he could better answer that. Thank you for the bug fix and thanks so much for your feed back! We appreciate it
