Him&Me (version 1) GxB

#1 Post by ririruetoo »

For Windows Only!

I've been working on Him&Me since the spring of 2011. During all this time, I've learned lot about VN and have sharpened my skills as a writer. In the process of Him&Me I discovered Lemmasoft Forums, and made some wonderful friends in the process. Him&Me is full of Melodrama, random humor, and cliches. For those wanting something to pass the time, I hope you enjoy.

Summary: You play as a girl in Korea who's Grandfather tells her she must find a husband before her next birthday.

Game Features:
*5 routes
*Drastically different story depending on your choices!

This is version 1 of the full game and the next version 2 will include the things which this version lacks:

*added route
*new sprites for some characters
*cgs

However, as I am unsure of when this will be done I decided to release the rest of the game.

Note: I apologize in advance for bugs/typos/other problems. Since I've been working on the game for so long and since I really just wanted to finally release it, I am certain there are things I did not fix prior to this release.

Known Bugs:

In Hyo's route, the game sometimes lists his name as Male Student I don't know how to fix this.

Sentences may run off the dialogue box.

I may release another version soon if the errors and bugs become too bothersome.

Sprites were done by Fiona and Monkey Ninja, music was taken either from my ost cds or freesound.org, backgrounds were included in Novelty.

Ah, I really want to play this, but my Mac can't play .exe files. T_T Will you be releasing a Mac version?

Missing fmodex.dll. Game won't run. That's a common problem with some Novelty distributions. I don't know how fleet does it, but I've never had trouble running his Novelty games.

Edit: Aha, found fleet's post where he describes his method for building hassle-free Novelty distributions:

I have the same issue. I thought it was my computer's fault, but I guess it's something else.

Go to: http://www.fmod.org/download-previous-products/

Download "FMOD Ex Programmer’s API" and install it.

Try starting game.

If it still does not work, copy the dll from the installation directory of FMOD into the game directory.

Try starting game again.

Should work now.

@Game Creator: You should are allowed to add the FMODex-dlls to your distribution. Quoting EULA:

IF YOUR PRODUCT IS NOT INTENDED FOR COMMERCIAL GAIN AND DOES NOT
INCLUDE THE FMOD LIBRARY FOR RESALE, LICENSE OR OTHER COMMERCIAL
DISTRIBUTION, THEN USE OF FMOD IS FREE OF CHARGE. THERE ARE NO
LICENSE FEES FOR NON-COMMERCIAL APPLICATIONS.

For some reason the fmodex.dll wasn't included in the game file when I exported the game into its own file. I'll include it in the first post.
