I've played through to a couple of endings, but I feel like I've not explored much of the story yet!

At first it really got me thinking about the typical first person shooter type game where you kill somebody during the tutorial and the game pretty much says to you "great job, have some xp and keep killing", Beretta Mondatta seemed like it was a comment on that sort of game, I felt a lot more remorse even though Beretta brushes it off in her thoughts.
The first ending I got was Murder By Numbers, at the coffee shop with Jessica Machine!
The character names are great! Also I liked the music that you've used, it goes well with the animated sprites. I think something to track which endings you've encountered would be useful, maybe there is already something like that in the game and I just haven't seen it!

Yes, you're right about first-person shooters -- they were definitely something I had in mind during the creation of Beretta Mondatta. (You might've noticed that one of the options on the first choice was a parody of Call of Duty's poor attempt to make players feel remorse.)

Also, I do plan on adding an ending counter at some point on a future update -- definitely a major omission. For now, I just posted a list of all 12 endings earlier in this thread.

Finally got around to playing this! Only got a couple of endings, but I really like it so far. The art style really is great, as is the music, and the story actually seems to be a lot deeper than I expected at the beginning. And of course it's really funny!

I really like the way some choices that would result in an instant game over in other games actually lead on to even more hilarious scenes in this one. Normally in games you can guess which choices aren't worth choosing as you'll just get punished for them, but in this one you seem to get rewarded no matter what you say, which makes it really unpredictable and fun. I liked that!

Yeah, the goal with this VN was definitely to avoid any sort of moral choice system and try to make all the endings and choices feel equally valid. I wanted it to be more about exploration than about "winning" or anything like that. In the post title, I tagged the game as "surreal," just meaning it generically, but there actually is just a tiny bit of influence from capital-S Surrealism, particularly the idea of dream logic (basically, stuff that would make sense in a dream but not in the real world).

Also, I saw that your latest game has rap battles in it... might have to be something I have to check out. :) Especially because if you get to the secret ending of Beretta Mondatta:
one of the things you unlock is a rap that plays over the credits.
