Solstice - mystery from the makers of Cinders [commercial]
Solitude, snow, and secrets! After three years of development, Solstice is finally out!
If you’ve been following our social media, you know it was a long and bumpy road for us, but I gotta say we’re quite proud of what we’ve accomplished in the end. Solstice represents a lot of our ideas on how games should be made with respect to character and world building, diversity, and player choices. It’s a story about things that are important to us and we can’t wait to see what the world thinks of it!
It's a commercial game, but there's a sizeable free demo available. We've also did a little experiment this time around and have some special editions available. Including limited one with actual physical merch (that costed an arm and a leg, but was SO worth it).
Have fun and be sure to post your feedback.
An exotic city in the middle of a frozen wasteland, cut off from the world by raging blizzards. Inhabited only by a small group of misfits, who either can’t or don’t want to leave for the dead winter season.
When the local archaeologist goes missing, an ambitious doctor on a contract and a mysterious young woman, who arrived with the last dog sled caravan, start asking questions.
What begins as an innocent investigation to pass the time, may end with the cold wasteland finally claiming the proud Jewel of the North.
Developed by: MoaCube
Writing: Hubert Sobecki, Agnieszka Mulak
Art by: Gracjana "Vinegar" Zielinska
Development: Tom Grochowiak
Music by: Rob Westwood
Editing: Cara "Cheratomo" Hillstock

@TeeGee-
Greatly enjoyed the demo, and would like to have the full game, however it appears that that it is only available on Steam. Is there an alternate place where I can purchase it? If not, I guess I will do without.

Huh? It's the other way around, actually . The game is available only on our website for now and Steam release is yet to come (somewhere in April methinks).
When you buy it, you get access to both the Mac and PC downloads directly. Steam key is just an extra.

Hi Tom-
Thank you for your quick response. The way it is listed made it appear to me that Steam is the only purchase venue . . . pardon me for being a little dense. I am off to get it RIGHT NOW!

No worries. Any suggestions on how we could make it a bit more clear? And thanks!

@TeeGee-
Well, spent most of yesterday immersed in the story; not done yet by any means! Have completed all four of the endings, although I have found only about half of the variants in each, and there are six rewards remaining to be uncovered. Needless to say, I will be revisiting the story until I have discovered the missing information.
I had forgotten just how much I enjoyed the demo. If I had to describe this effort in just one word, it would be "fantastic"! The story is very intriguing, and held my interest, the personalities of the characters are well defined, the art is GORGEOUS,and I love the subtle movements of the characters, and other animations scattered throughout the story.
Hmmmm. . . guess you have figured out by now that I am a huge fan of this story? A really great job, and I will be looking forward to your next effort (hope I'm done with this one by the time it comes out!)

OMG, this game looks similar to Cinders, and Cinders is one of my favorite otome games ever <3 I was decided to buy this mystery/adventure game anyway, and then I watch the trailer and... A KISS. SO THERE'S ROMANCE TOO. Give me time to save money and I'll have a new game to love <3

Philip, thank you so much! I'm happy to hear you liked it.
Kirlett, well, it's the same team as Cinders, so I'm pretty sure you'll like it. It's less lighthearted though.

Getting press for a VN is SO hard these days, but RPGFan did a pretty glowing review of the game.
