Echoes of the Fey is a series of visual novel detective stories set in the high fantasy world of Oraz starring Sofya Rykov, a Human private investigator with a dangerous secret: following a near-death experience in the war, she spontaneously developed the ability to use magic. She is joined by her Leshin partner, Heremon ir-Caldy, a doctor fascinated by Sofya's magic but fearful it will soon come at the cost of her life. Together, Sofya and Heremon navigate the mysteries and tensions of Vodotsk, the city they intend to make both their hiding place and their home.

In "The Fox's Trail", Sofya is hired to track down a missing Leshin with connections to the Human resistance during the occupation. Investigate how you prefer, with over 100 choice points throughout the story. Some will improve your relationship with the characters. Others will provide you critical information. And some will change the fate of the people you will come to know.

This game allows you to explore and roam a town at your leisure, visiting characters or exploring shops whenever you choose to do so. Your decisions to talk to certain people at critical points will impact the clues Sofya gathers and the flow of the story.

You can also make specific decisions during your interactions with characters to directly impact the narrative. You can develop romances or change the fate of several characters in the game by such decisions.

Unlike Woodsy Studio's previous visual novels, this one is actually made in Game Maker. Currently it's only available on PC but it's coming soon to Linux and Android. I hope you enjoy it!

Oh, looks interesting. Before I buy: This is only the first episode, right? How 'complete' is the story? And do the romances reach a conclusion or will the progression span over the entirety of the episodes?

Each episode will be a complete story, in that it will resolve the mystery/case at the center of the episode. There are also overarching plots that will stretch between episodes. Romances are handled (somewhat) similarly, in that some may only just be beginning/possibilities that will stretch across episodes while others are self-contained within the episode (though if the character returns in a later episode, may be able to be picked up again).

Are there really only 5 save slots? With all the choices you give us, that's not nearly enough to keep my compulsive saving issue sated lol.

Hey everyone! Just thought I'd let you know we released a new version that fixes a bug that would affect a tiny percentage of endings. Nothing game-breaking or huge and saves will be unaffected (install the new version and it will find your save) just a little inconsistency that could arise re: one character's fate.
