The Four Leaf Studios (or 4ls) team has just finished their latest project. The project is called "The Answer", and it's just been completed. The Answer is a slice-of-life comedy about a writer who decides to take up the task of writing his own visual novel, though he cannot man the entire project alone. Thus begins his search for an artist. The Answer chronicles the writer and his new artist through the steps of creating a visual novel, presented in an informative yet comedic manner. It's a relatively short read, around 4500 words in total, and contains two endings.

The main character is a jerk. It was an interesting read, but the default speed of the text felt like the guy was lecturing a mile a minute. I do have to say that the art style(which was unique and nice to look at) and music really fit the theme... I still hated the guy.

Quite an informative VN.

Alright, to start off, I liked the Art. Sophie's character design was unique, creepy, and reminded me of a female L. It's not hundred's-of-hours-in-photoshop good but I enjoyed looking at it. The backgrounds looked like they were done pretty quickly.

The menu functioned well, the preferences and functions all seemed to work. Could use some buttons on the text box. Structure wise it was good.

Writing wise, not much to complain about. Needed more question marks when the protagonist is ranting. I laughed a few times so you did a good job here.

The BGM suited the moments of extreme RAGE the main character went through. The added keyboard sfx was a nice touch. Sophie's BGM seemed a bit off. Could've used a "inbetween RAGE moments" calming BGM.

Now the story... seriously, I was laughing through most of it. The nerd rage, the lust for revenge, Sophie's apathetic-ness. I can relate to the protagonist, I've been to quite a few internet forums based around user-made works. Almost all them are giant circle jerks where you'll never find a single post of criticism. The VN accomplished what it went out to do, and that's teach people what not to do when making a VN. I definitely think anyone looking to make a VN should check this out.
