I thought to post this in completed games forum, since is finished (unless monele finds some more typos but I doubt it!).

Description

Heileen, cute 18 years old english girl.
She has a quiet life, without any real problems. But one day, her uncle Otto, a famous english merchant, decides that it is time for a change, and forces her to follow him on a journey to the New World.
During the voyage, she'll meet old and new friends and discover lots of secrets, and ultimately find what really wants for herself.
Play with her this fantastic voyage along eight chapters of intriguing dialogues. Each choice you make will have a consequence in your relationship with the other crew members and will determine which one of the three different finals you'll see.

I thought the gameplay was interesting, and it seemed like a great game. I wish the demo was a little longer!

I like the character art and the fact that it was different, I liked even more to see how my different choices led to sometimes totally different interactions. This game is amazing.

I was really impressed by the way the game plays, it was different and I liked the quest system. I haven't seen that type of thing before and quite liked how it worked to provide lots of intermediate goals that gave a good sense of character progression. Solid art and visuals as well. I think you visually always get the most out of the renpy and have a very healthy dose of polish in everything that is to be commended! :)

I was also very surprised by just how different it was from Summer Schoolgirls, which introduced me to Renpy and inspired my current project (~2 months of infrequent work in)...which strangely also happens to be a GxB game set in victorian times. I thought at first we might both have had similar inspirations, but our games are very different, mine's closer to your original than your new one despite the similarities in theme.

Thanks for the comment! So, you're making another game set back in time, in what I consider a very interesting historic period :) I'm looking forward to see it when is done!
Back to my game, with Heileen I wanted to make something different from my previous game, also because it is my first real attempt in doing a renpy game completely on my own (I had the original idea of Summer Session but was written by Hanako and programmed yet by another person).
I personally think is a very original game, then of course some people love it and others hate it

got a review that made me thinking. WHAT exactly are the "historical innacuracies" in the game (for those that played it) ?
I can agree on her opinion about being a bit too "funny" in tone and the fact that everyone seems to like Heileen, but that's exactly the story I had in mind.
What you think that would happen if you put a beautiful and polite girl in a ship filled with sailors?

Also I don't understand clearly what the reviewer means with "Loads of innuendo and fan-service" ? can someone translate for a non-english reader?

When people talk about something being full of 'fanservice' they usually mean one of two things. The first being TITS. Gratuitous nudity or skimpy clothing or other sexual suggestiveness that seems to not really be needed for the story but is just there for the pervert fans who like this sort of thing. If you have a story featuring a prim and proper secretary who has very large breasts and they *jiggle* every time she moves, you have fanservice.

The other meaning is along the same lines but more generalised - any sort of content that doesn't really make sense within the story itself but is just put in to please the fans. Random injokes, references to other popular stories, giant robots for no reason...

Ha thanks, it's clear now who she's referring to
Well. I don't know, the character of Lora is made that way on purpose. Sure you could say it's an excuse to show half-nudities but I thought we were behind the classic stereotype that if a girl is seductive=bitch, or that if any girl in the story wants to show herself naked, then is not needed for the story... I hope to express myself correctly! if I want a character to be seductive, is hard without showing something sexy about her. Sure I could just do it only with the words she says, but that would be of limited effect I think...and mistress like her were quite common in the 17th century.
Well, I got a bit disappointed by that review, but most likely because she says it's historically non-accurate after I spent so much time to try it making be at least "plausible"

I wouldn't let that affect you Jack. I think that the fact that you have 'fan service' just means the game is playfull and interesting. If you had prioritized the historical accuracy over the playfullness I think the game might have turned out boring. It's the liveliness of the characters that make the game interesting, not political correctness.

Yes np, after all she didn't say the game was crap, was overall a positive review. I just didn't understand some points, but probably you're right. When/if will make the sequel I think will use the same style
