Synopsis

When Sable is accepted into Amadronia Magic Academy, he believes that his dream of becoming a world-renowned magic researcher is finally within his grasp. As one of the few pure-blooded humans capable of using magic, Sable is hopeful that he’ll find common ground with the demi-human population at the school, and that the next few years of his life will be as productive as they are enlightening.

Unfortunately for Sable, his first day at Amadronia quickly proves to him that this will not be the case. The students in his class are unruly, there’s a pyromanic dragon girl running around, his "teacher" has no interest in teaching, the principal willfully breaks academy rules, and it seems like everywhere he turns, Sable finds one more reason to doubt Amadronia's proud legacy.

Will Sable manage to survive at this clearly dysfunctional academy? Or will he, like so many others, leave Amadronia feeling utterly disillusioned?

What a great story! And the background art and sprites are wonderful as well. I have spent the better part of three days exploring the various routes, and have yet to complete all of them.

I love the "Routes" page as it allows you to pick up the story at many points, to explore another possible ending.

I have probably read about a thousand VN's and KN's in the five or so years that I have been on the Lemmasoft Forum, and in my opinion, "Sables Grimoire" ranks in my top five!

Oh . . . . I did notice two exceptions as I played through.

Are the two exceptions one near the start of Drakan's route, and one part way through Jorou's route? If so, they've since been fixed (both Steam and Itch.io). Both were syntax errors with animation, so "ignore" would have let you continue on without issue before the patch.

Well. I completed the story last evening, and have found all the endings . . . as is the usual case, some were nice, and a few not so pleasant.

I am really surprised, and a bit disappointed that no one else has commented on this game …it is an outstanding, masterfully done effort, and it deserves to have some positive posts here to let Zetsubou know that his efforts, and the hard work of his team are recognized and appreciated!

One new (happier) ending added for Jorou. Work has now begun on Tix's route.

Got the message that Tix's route has been added to this story, so spent last evening and part of today re-exploring the game and playing through the new route. It's just like the rest of the story . . . artfully and marvelously done!!! Those of you out there who have not explored Sable's Grimoire are missing out on a wonderful adventure!

Am hoping that Zetsubou will do another story . . . and soon!!

I've got more stories coming alright, including for Sable's Grimoire. (Warning: link contains spoilers for people who haven't played SG)
Not "soon" though. I have several things in the pipeline, and they'll all take a while longer yet.
