I just finished playing your game and I must say that I enjoyed it alot!

I admit that I was a bit skeptical at first after only reading the intro and looking at the pictures(sorry... no offence) but as soon as I started up the game and actually played it I found that I just couldn't put it down!

LOL! Don't worry, my art work did (and still does) suck back then since that's actually when I first started mastering my tablet (I only got it this last spring). I'm glad that the story made up for your skepticism though and I'm looking forward to revamping and making a sequel myself! But that's only when I'm done with my current projects :3

Hi. For some odd reason, I couldn't play your game on my Mac. I think it's because you made it in Ren'Py 6.9.1, and I remember there was a problem with one of the releases (it didn't produce working Mac apps, something like that). I redistributed it in Ren'Py 6.9.2, and it works great! I'll post the file up here, if you don't mind.

So I played the game..

Despite the fact I like 3rd person games which have more dialogues and less thinking, I actually pretty liked this one.
It's probably mainly thanks to the writing - it was amazing!
Though, the art isn't half bad either.

I actually expected a simple plot

(without any magic or such stuff)

but it turned out to be quite a lot more interesting than what I thought.

The music from that box was really great. I actually could understand why it's so special to the Thao (or what was her name? sorry, I'm not good with names)

The only sad thing was that it didn't have any player interaction.

Keep going! Waiting for the next part/act/whatever!

It is a kinetic novel so there isn't supposed to be too much user interaction. This was my first game too so I was rather wary of trying to branch off and write different scenarios. There was something comforting about a solid singular short story which I hope I'll be able to branch off in future games.

But for now, I'm busy writing for my team so look forward to that. I am strongly considering on working on a sequel or remake for [Phase Shift] afterward though.

For future writings, try to use less personal pronouns and 'be' verbs. It'll be hard, but will make the story much more interesting by 'showing' things instead of 'telling' them.
Artwork was fairly good (better than I could ever do at least), music was average (although my standard for music is high), and the plot was good enough to leave me with a mild thirst for more.

Haha, it's been a while since this topic has gotten a reply, it always amuses me when this KN catches someone's interest. I'll keep your advice for writing in mind (and for my writer). The music was royalty free music, so I mostly chose it on a whim.

As for the art, I now find it completely atrocious and if I ever get around to remaking this the art will be much, much better.
