An unexpectedly touching piece. Congratulation on making the remake.
I can understand how it feels to see something you did such a long time ago redone and met with such a response.^^
Excellent story, though it ended at the exact point when I started thinking that I´ll be glad to sacrifice a few hours on it. I would have wished it was longer, but the circle was closed in a nice way and I think it would loose a lot of it charm that way.
Deji's art is, as always, at a high level. (She really outdid herself at the camera xD)
The Voice Acting was much better than I would have expected it to be and I especially liked Koda's VA. I would be really interested in knowing how much it costed you^^

In every case, a delight to read. I really have to check out some of your other work ^^

Great news, Ripples has just been deployed to the iPad. It was submitted to the app store tonight so it should be available for free download in about a week. I called this one "Ripples HD" because I didn't bother with the 20MB size restriction and instead opted for the highest quality images from the original game. If you're a high-res nut, you'll be happy you downloaded this one compared to the iPhone release.

I also fixed a few bugs and added a couple of minor things over to the iPhone version.

Here's a few screenshots. I hope people enjoy this as much as I enjoyed porting it.

Thanks dstarsboy for making me depressed about not having an iPad.
But on a serious note, good job to both of you for making the game and porting it to the iPhone and iPad!

cloudyssky: why depressed? you can play it fine on computers! ;)
Looks very nice. On iPad those games have much more appeal than on the ridiculously small iphone screen size!

No problem guys, thanks for the warm comments! It's a pleasure putting Ripples out there for everyone. It's one of my favorites.

I'll let everyone know as soon as Apple approves it. :)

Hey, don't be unfair! Ayu is the one taking the App store by storm, not me xD I just happen to team up with her often and have this chance C:

Ara...I don't know about taking anything by storm. XD We're just a team fighting for great justice and spreading the love of VNs.

Many thanks to dstarsboy for all of his hard work, and many thanks to everyone who has read this. Your encouragement really inspires me.

Ah, I forgot to mention, the Ripples HD for iPad was approved last week.

I was kind of shocked by the stats, the iPhone version launched with quite a few downloads in it's first few days. The iPad version actually had around 20% more downloads in the first few days than the iPhone version had. That's strange since the number of iPads out there are much much less than the number of iPhones/iPods in circulation. That and this version overshot the 20MB download limit for 3G/Cellular service... which requires the user to have Wifi to get this app, unlike the iPhone version which could have been downloaded any where and any time.

Even more interesting is that the iPhone version was around 70% US downloads and 30% the rest of the world. The iPad version was around 60% Japan downloads, 30% US and 10% the rest of the world. Very cool for an English-only app.

I wonder if it got featured on a website or something in Japan to spark so much interest there.

interesting that you put it in "Books" rather than games. Maybe books is more popular category than games ?

I think Ripples counts more as a book than a game since it's linear and there aren't any minigames or anything like that. If people think of it as an illustrated story, it's probably better that way.

Time to add it to the queue too... Wandering through these Forums is going to seriously cut into my writing time. ;)

Actually, I caught myself the other day on calling the game a Visual Novel since it's more like a story book like sake-bento said.
