[text] - A Summer Story (Remake)

Sakevisual presents yet another remake. >.> The first version of [text] was a sound novel that I used as a practice piece for me as I tried to get the hang of branching storylines and some of Ren'py's nifty features like Animation and UI interaction. This version is once again a practice piece as I try to get the hang of ATL and screen language. I think it's better than the original. I'm also glad that I managed to finish it today, as some might consider this to be holiday appropriate.
Synopsis: Maya's uncle is a caretaker of a small shrine in Japan. While visiting him, she winds up exchanging texts with a local boy named Takeshi. This is their story.
Scenery Photography: Samu-kun
Phone Icons: templay.de
Writing: sake-bento
Sound Effects: freesound (Full credits in game)
Music: Susumu Hirasawa
With a million thanks to the beta testers and proof readers who caught all my stupidity (I hope).

That's an awesome game

I just got ending 07: Together!
I'm amazed you can release such quality games as freewares, but I guess people can't complain

How did you get ending 7? It's the only ending I can't get, even trying so many times. TAT

Finished all the endings. Took me a while, but I really wanted to find the happy ending. Doesn't seem like there really is one though. Poor Maya and Takeshi.
[text] is amazing. It shows that you don't really need fancy cgs or heart stopping music to make a good game. The interface was really nice and it let me really focus on the words. I think next to the writing, I was most impressed by the sound effects. It pulled me in to the game more than the pictures. I actually paused a couple of times just to listen to them.
I think my only complaint is that I wish that the music during the revelation was more intense. I wanted a more moody, creepy music. But that might have made the game too dark. I dunno.
I think one of my favorite endings is Ending 04. It makes you feel so uneasy.

YOU REMADE IT?! 8D
The original was the FIRST of your games, not to mention the first independent Renpy made visual novel, I ever played! Oh, I hope I like this as much as the original version, I'm impressed already by the one screenshot here.
EDIT: I found a small problem. You see, I decided to use the ZIP first... it glitched. No matter if everything else was closed, the right side had small boxed flashes of either other windows that were behind it, minimized, or closed. Then I got the installer. It did the same from both the main menu shortcut and the shortcut on my desktop, only this time it was only my wallpaper that showed up.
Ripples works FINE, and so do other games using Renpy. This one... not so much.
And oddly, I tried it again as I was typing this. Apparently, the game runs properly for me if Google Chrome is open and I click the shortcut though the menu when it isn't minimized. But not when it ISN'T.
... This may just be me though. I thought you would like a heads up. I have Windows XP Pro by the way.
Here is a screenshot, in case you need to see what I am talking about.

Just got ending 1 by the way... I fail. XD

I got all the endings~ Quite scary, but perfect for Halloween I guess? 8D
It's amazing to see how all the pretty phone application and icons are laid out in the game, in a way I feel it looks prettier than games with CG images *w*
One thing though, I got ED 01 (twice actually), but in the info section it keeps on saying no signal for ending 1...dunno if this is a bug or anything. >w>;

Here you go! To get the fourth ending:
You need to be mean to Takeshi. I know, it's hard cause he seems like such a sweet guy. But ignore him. Turn off your phone. Hurt his feelings. And tada! You get Ending 04.

Thanks to sporkysan, I got the fourth ending!
I still don't get the story though... So many loose ends left unsolved...
Why'd the grandfather kill Maya in one of the endings?
