Kahoots Room Escape!

#1 Post by Honeyslug » Tue Nov 30, 2010 10:46 am

Hello!

I'm part of a small games company called Honeyslug, from London UK. This year, we decided it would be a cool idea to use Ren'Py for work experience excercises as it would give our work experience people a chance to have a go at all aspects of game development and make a game in a week! I'd never used Ren'Py before so I had just as much fun as our work experience people trying Ren'Py out and making some small games! I definitely plan on making some more!

Kahoots Room Escape was made by Josh Higgins and myself. It's a really short game where you need to help a Kahoot escape the Honeyslug Office. As an added bonus you get to go behind the scenes at Honeyslug and see us hard at work!

You can download the game from here (scroll down to the mini games section):

We hope you like it!

Welcome to the forums and I'm happy you picked Ren'Py even for a practice game. The more professional devs use it, the more it gains cred as a viable game engine.

I am now off looking for more information about Kahoots and will keep you folks in mind if ever the opportunity rises for iOS and PSP Minis development.

Thanks! We've been mentioning Ren'Py a lot in our blog recently! I'm really impressed with it and will definitely make some more.

Ren'Py was absolutely perfect for using with work experience people as it's so simple to get to grips with (but I love how the complexity is there if you want to explore it). Dana never thought she would be able to make her own game, but I briefly showed her the Ren'Py basics and she had a small game about shopping up and running in less than an hour!

Thanks for keeping us in mind!

Nat
