Ewe of the Falklands

#1 Post by terrorbullgames »

Hello everyone! I'm new to this forum, this is my first post and my first Ren'py game. In fact, it's my first ever computer game. To call me a "newbie" would be a gross understatement. So please go easy on me :)

So this is really out of my comfort zone. I normally design board games, but I was encouraged to get into computer games and Ren'py seemed like it had a low entry level and this is the result:

It's a short game. You are a pacifist sheep trying to stop the Falklands War in the 1980s.

There's some bad language, but not enough for me to say I think it needs a rating. But if you're nervous, obviously play it first before handing it over to your kids.

All feedback welcome!
Cheers,
Andrew

By the way, it's very hard to be a sheep - too many people trying to cut you.
I realy liked the graphic style and sad humor of a game. Keep it up...;)

That was scary.
The unexpected mouth animation and sheep/human sounds caught me off guard (the whole VN doesn't has music, just sound effects).
The whole atmosphere of the game was dark and creepy, I felt hopeless, what power has a sheep against humans?
Now, there were some funny bits, in one playthrough I always pressed the "keep gazing" option and the answers were hilarious. Especially the end, that was some good dark humor.

In my first playthrough though, I got the "King of Peru", it was written that this was the best ending. Really o_o ?
With that screamer at the end I thought it was the worse ending I could ever get.
Sadly, in the other endings the sheep always dies in a silly way.
In any case, it was really a creative project, kudos for that.

Ha ha ha, I have not gotten all the endings, but this game has made my day! I'm a bit slow to respond (technically I downloaded it a few days ago, I just never got around to playing it!)

For a first VN it's fairly solid. I think it's best to go with humour for your first Ren'Py project, but seeing as I have yet to make one myself, what do I know.

One of the lines that endeared this game to me was
"Eva Peron uses the lungs of poor children to cushion her fancy shoes! And the musical WAS NOTHING TO WRITE HOME ABOUT!"
or however exactly it went. Having only seen the line once and not having it open while writing this post forces me to rely on a shoddy memory.

I'll have to get my sister to check it out; she'll appreciate the silliness of it.

Admittedly, I would have used different incoherent sounds for people speaking... but that's just one minor complaint.

It's in black and white because the sheep sees things in black in white?

A game about a sheep trying to stop a war?! *starts rapidly pressing the download button*

Very unexpected and innovative =X. It's kinda ironic how if you generalize things, there's really only two endings :
becoming the King of Peru or dying.
