A short project I began working on with a number of other talented (anonymous) contributors in late 2009. Since I'm beginning a remake/fandisc I figured I'd spread word around about the original a bit more before that comes to light, so that people can appreciate the updates that come in RE: Afternoon.

Oh hey I think I've heard of this before.

On a random note though, what font is that? Cause I think I see it used a lot in VNs made with nscripter but I'm terrible at identifying fonts.

I really liked this game, short but really sweet, and the artwork (the character artwork that's it, the backgrounds aren't anything special imo) is really lovely. I really liked all the extras, the concept arts were interesting to watch and the music is real good, more VNs should let us browse trough work-in-progress galleries and other extra goodies like this!

I see this is actually a real short story put into visual novel form, I haven't read the original story, does the VN differ much from the real thing? I'm interested in reading the story this is based off from but, if this version inst that different from the original one then it would be pointless to go trough it again knowing all the twists wouldn't it?



Edit: Now that I think about there is but one thing I can criticize,

The "sad face" Julie puts when her father dies looks more like the "cute sad face" sort of sadness, rather than the face a girl that just lost her father and is left all alone would have

Oh and the "deleted scene" from the extras made me chuckle XD, just wow...

Ah, I played it. Quite nice, though I believe this certain story isn't the thing that would interest me much. Some other people might like it, but it just not fit me quite well. Anyhow. I love the ending of the story, for some reasons.

Maybe some things that I would criticize about...

Somehow, for a type of setting that is not located in Japan, there is still a very heavy vibe of Japan in the story. For example, "fufufu" type is a type of laugh that is very common in Japan, and mostly are used by Japanese female. For Julie that doesn't seem from anywhere near Japan nor have any interest in it, I think I found it quite strange... to see her laugh in such way. Also, regarding to laugh. Sometimes I found Mark's separated "A... ha... ha..." laugh is quite strange. As if his laugh isn't sincere, or was it meant to be like that?

Other than that, I don't find anything too disappointing. I hope the remake will be far better than this one! Good luck on the remake! XD

Thanks for all the feedback, I'm glad you guys were able to enjoy it.

As for the remake, the sprites are being tweaked and some CGs redone, as well as all of Anne's sprites. I'm switching up some of the music, and I'm always looking for people who'd like to donate some track ideas of their own. The most significant change is that the remake will have three routes, one being Anne's, the other Julie's, and finally a BAD END.

I feel a bit bad for deviating so much from Young's original storyline, but I think it's turning out pretty well so far.
