Signature Length

Folks, I've noted that some peoples' signature lengths are getting a bit on the excessive side. When signatures are too long, it makes posts longer, and makes everyone have to scroll a bit more than they should. So please, be respectful of your fellow users, and keep the signatures to a reasonable length.

I'd consider a reasonable length to be 5 lines or less. Pictures should also take up the same amount of space. On my monitor, a line of text is about 18 pixels high, so if you go for a picture rather than text, you should make it at most 90 pixels high. You can trade off lines and pictures - so 2 lines of text and a 54 pixel high picture is alright - but a 5 lines and a 90 pixel picture is too much.

One suggestion is to use the [ right ] and [ /right ] tag to put text on the right side of your signature. (Remove the extra spaces in the tag names.) For example, if I had eight things I wanted to look like:

I could write:

Floating a picture to the right could also be a good choice. I don't want to cut down too much on people's self-expression - but at the same time, it's important that it not overwhelm the main topic of the forum. Thanks.

I shortened mine too just in case, and removed all those extra stuff on it. Fortunately, it's a little shorter now xD

Now we have to point out that people's avatars and info are too long I'm looking at you Snowflower and Lumen! Short sigs don't help when there's all that whitespace.
