Help with videos
I have an account on youtube and I like to make Amvs but it's really hard to find any good material to use in them. I usually go on google and search for gifs of the anime I want to use but it's still lacking and my videos are kinda suckish because of that. I use windows movie maker and put the gifs or pictures together and add text and music. If anyone knows where I can get better material to use in my videos it would be greatly appriciated. By the way, I know this is not Ren.py related at all but I don't have many other places to turn to. Thanks

Re: Help with videos
I would personally say make something else other than AMVs, very few people are able to pull it off creatively and many fall into the same mentality of using their favourite music with their favourite anime series (Linkin Park/Evanescence to Dragonball Z/Gundam Wing etc). Not to mention Youtube will pull your videos off due to copyright infringement (most likely from the music label company). But if you feel adamant about making AMVs then read on.
I'd suggest you buy a better video editor - WMM is basic at best but if you want more control and better results you need a capable video editor, search the Game-Makers Corner for a past topic on which video editor to get (I'd suggest Sony Vegas).
When you're dealing with any footage you need to know how to deal with formats, conversion, editing whilst keeping the quality as high as possible (there's nothing worse than a low quality video). If you have the anime dvds you should be able to convert the video with your editor, otherwise you'll be required to download the video and figure out what codec was used - .avi and .mp4 you should be able to use without any special software but more specialised containers such as .mkv or .mov formats will give you trouble. Same goes with your music file formats.
Where to download 'good material'? Well it'll be illegal and frowned upon if I told you how to, just learn by yourself! It's what I did...

Re: Help with videos
Okay. I would like to make other videos than AMV's but I don't really know how so I'll work on that later. But thanks for the help and sorry for the late reply to this. I don't own very much anime but I can try something with what I have. Also I will check out that Sony vegas thing and see how that works. Thanks again
