Steve Jobs: A Great Man
Steve Jobs, the iconic figure behind many of Apple's great products in the past few years has died due to pancreatic cancer which he had been struggling with for years.
Thank you Steve Jobs. You've done good man. No matter the ups and downs, you've done good.
May you rest in peace.

Re: A Great Man
Seriously o_O Oh yeah, you're serious... He's a great man, it's a great loss for humanity. No we can't see what kind of breakthrough he'll make again just like he shake the industry with iPad and iPhone...
RIP, Mr. Jobs.
RIP, Mr. Jobs.

Re: Steve Jobs: A Great Man
I may not have liked everything that he'd done recently. But the world is a better place because of the personal computers that Steve Jobs helped pioneer. That world of cheap personal computers has made it possible for us to live in the sort of world that 35 years ago was science fiction.
For those who haven't seen it, an archive of stories about Steve Jobs from the time he worked on the Macintosh project - back when Macintosh was just an idea. (Link goes to archive.org since the original site was overloaded.)

Also, don't forget the other company he was involved with. It's a little movie studio you might have heard of - Pixar.

This essay, in particular, influenced Ren'Py quite a bit.

I wasn't a big fan of him either (especially how he ran Apple in the last years) but is undeniable that he contributed a lot to the modern world computers, and people will remember him years to come, and that's not a small achievement. Rest in peace!

Re: Steve Jobs: A Great Man
Same here. I don't really like Steve Jobs and I never use his products (except for watching Pixars' movies), but still, his passing is a great loss for us.

Re: Steve Jobs: A Great Man
Oh man, I was in class when I heard the news, somebody blurted it out in lecture and even the professor had trouble going on after that.
I'm a PC and Samsung person, but I had a lot of admiration for Steve Jobs, namely his drive and innovation. Not many people have that ability to envision a change in the world, and then make it happen.
RIP, Mr Jobs. You're a name to go down in history.

Re: Steve Jobs: A Great Man
I for myself can´t respect a man pushing his factories to an extent where workers are jumping of the roofs and then joking about it.
Additionally, he actually didn´t do anything THAT great.
He and others designed Xerox´s PC for more suitable uses in households ... Sooner or later ( 1-3 years approx.) this surely would have been done by another person.
The IPod was another design for the MP3-Player, so it wasn´t anything new either.
The IPad is just useless, but it´s Apple, so it´s nice - Hahaha... That´s how the current situation is.
The iPhone is nice - No question. But he surely wasn´t the only person currently developing it.
After all, Apple as a whole was just a company able to get to the important point(Marketing-investigation + Design) fast enough. That´s something respectable, but that´s it.
I currently don´t know if there was anything like the iPhone before(As thats something I´m not really interested in) but basically you can say that they didn´t develop anything on their own - They just changed already developed things, which would have been done so sooner or later.
Now hate me :3

@Silvere
If you don't have any semblance of respect for the man, that is okay. What is not okay is trying to bait yourself into being disliked in a thread (and trying to act all cute about it) where we're simply sending off a man who whether you think did anything great or not obviously DID do something and it had a great rippling effect.

Actually that was because of getting flamed everywhere I had posted something like this so or soMaiMai wrote:What is not okay is trying to bait yourself into being disliked in a thread (and trying to act all cute about it)
Which could just have done by anyone.. Which is what I wanted to say as I´m pissed about all media saying he was one of the greatest men of earth *_*where we're simply sending off a man who whether you think did anything great or not obviously DID do something and it had a great rippling effect.
Just wanted to say some true facts ´bout him, you don´t have to actually care about it ^_^
Edit: So, I´m honestly a bit sorry about saying such things, but something in me just tells me that I have to do it -_-

Re: Steve Jobs: A Great Man
Please... Don't vent here? I honestly was going to leave this alone after you replied, but what you're still being disrespectful especially in regard to the people in this thread who, while don't necessarily like him because of aforementioned 'true facts', still acknowledge that he did some very effective things without calling him a godsend.Silvere wrote:Which could just have done by anyone.. Bah, what's done is done and I'll back off, but now there's a bad taste in my mouth. :/
