My friend said that if I die before her I have permission to haunt her. :3 But, when I'm bored or something I'll definitely go somewhere where there are people filming or something and freak the shit out of them. Maybe something like, 'Oh my, guests! It's not often this happens. Please, please, sit down! No, no, no! Don't go in there, that's private! W-wait! I'll call the police if you go in the--!' Or maybe act out a scene where I'm talking to someone else they can't hear.

In short, I'd love to fuck with people when I die and become a ghost.

I myself am also a believer of ghosts. I've seen a few pictures (Even one of them came from Google Maps) and have even had a few frightening experiences over the years in my life, but in the case of personal experiences I always try to find explanations first before deciding on whether or not it is the work of paranormal activities.

I also gotta agree with LateWhiteRabbit about those ghost hunter shows. Every time I see an episode or two of a series, it always seems so fake to me somehow. I mean, from what I've seen, the people in the show never really seem to be in any kind of danger throughout the whole event. Even if you are experienced at what you do, there are times when mistakes or unforseen accidents can happen, especially when you're unfamiliar with the the area you're investigating.

Personally, I do not believe in spirits or anything like that. Most of the time when people talk about seeing ghosts and such things they can be reasonably explained away. Such common explanations are: the person is a liar, they overreacted, they saw something that wasn't there (hallucinations are quite common, especially when you're scared), or they couldn't comprehend what they saw.

When I was younger I was convinced that my house was haunted. There were several weird things going on. Sometimes at night, when I was alone, I could hear laughing and on a few occasions someone whispering my name. Once I was laying in bed when the bed started shaking (nothing else in the house was shaking). Another time I was lying in bed (again). My sister's room was right across from mine. At the time she had this barney doll in her toy chest that would talk when squeezed. For some reason I kept on hearing the doll talking and finally I stood up and went to get the doll. Just as I exited my room the doll stopped talking. At the time my mom and her friend were in the living room (only three feet from my room) and they didn't hear anything. Despite these occurrences, I still can't believe in spirits. The events that happened to me were only witnessed by myself. There was no one to corroborate my story and most of the things I've mentioned can be explained away.

While I do not believe in spirits, that does not mean I don't want them to be real. I feel that having spirits in the world would be interesting. It could provide us with a way to learn more about the past and the people that came before us. It could provide us with a basis for an afterlife. It could provide some people with jobs (exorcists, ghost speakers, etc.). There's a lot of things that could come from spirits being real.

P.S. While I was writing this I realized a big flaw in ghost stories. All of the ghosts are either human or some kind of pet. With all of the animals in the world you would think that we would get a little more variety. At the very least there should be a t-rex ghost out there somewhere.

I ain't afraid of no ghosts. I also ain't not believe in none of them. Or aliens that travel a zillion light years and then hide from people. Or monsters. Or Oyashiro-sama. Well, maybe the last one.

Sounds like a post that belongs in a certain other thread. :p

I never see them but I believe that they are exist. Although I never personally encounter any paranormal activity, lots of people around me actually had (one time when I was besides them... sleeping). Call it my luck?

Ghost or any other spiritual things depends heavily on surrounding beliefs. You know that games and anime often claims that god receive their powers from their believers and how they lost their power when there's no one anymore that believe in them? It's more or less true. That's why although somewhat similar, some area/country have their own unique spiritual things.

And believe it or not... ghosts have their own religion. Ex: an Islam ghost that possessed somebody couldn't be exorcised (or forced to go home) by a Catholic priest. It really happened.

BTW, if we become ghost, I doubt we could think clearly anymore, since we all probably know that a body consist of mind, body, and soul (though science claims that mind is also a part of body/brain). Ghost is a soul, so it doesn't have mind. But then again... who knows...

Ahhh, so many different opinions!! It's nice to see how people think and experience XD

@rewritten: I'll take into note what you're saying. Stupid coincidence yeah? @_@

@LateWhiteRabbit: Ah! I remember one like that too!! It was in my junior year. I dreamed that I fell down the stair in my school, and that really happens! Except now that I have more awareness, so I grabbed something and not really fell down. But the dejavu feeling is so strong!!

@SystemHappy: Wooowww, you have a strong mind, yeah? But my experience is witnessed by so many others, so I just can't ignore that I think. Though I still want to think that it's all human error, I mean human's brain can be easily manipulated. And I mean, maybe, that one child in my experience was hiding somewhere unnoticeable (I don't know how since there are so much people searching for her) and play with her imaginary friend @_@ I hope it's like that.

@LVUER: Ghosts have nationality too. You know when a woman dies while giving birth to a child? That thing becomes a kuntilanak? I haven't found something similar in the other country. Or when a tool is old enough they will have a soul like in Japan? Mehh. And if you include alllllll the dead people before, there will be too many ghosts in the world, but why there are so few of them? I'm starting to think that ghosts are demons who fake us. Or it can be explained in logical way, though we doesn't know how to.
And yeah, I think there will be new experience if we become a ghost. I mean, it's not that we're living anymore. We'll be separated from our body.

But well, I don't know. I'm not someone who can see and talk to ghosts. I mean, if I have those experiences, I think my opinion will come different. Then again, who am I to judge them?

Oh, come on. Ghosts? Spirits? At first I don't believe them.

Yeah, first year high changed my view.

When I was in that year, at the first day, I was in front of a girl and what I seemed to notice about her was the amount of rings she was wearing. I mean, almost every finger has one ring. When I asked her where did she get it, she said it was from her friends.
Then ever since that day, we became close friends. And later on I found out what are those rings from.

One day, when we were supposed to go in the Math Center, another friend and I was about to go there when she stopped me.
"No, I feel something in there. Don't go."
"Why?"
"I feel spirits in there."
At first I didn't believe her, and so did my other friend. So that other friend went there. But when she came back, she said her head hurts. When she approached us, my friend's eyes widened.
"Why, what's wrong?"
"... hollow spirits."
And she tool out one of the rings she have and gave it to my other friend, telling her it's "protection for the hollow spirit."

And oh, if that isn't convincing enough, another friend got possessed in front of my eyes, and when I shoved a rosary in her face, she just laughed at me.

Creepy.

Ohoho, I have the eyes of an eagle! Don't worry, you should always take your time Jam, no one is rushing you~ And yay! Survival game! That's more of my taste! I love it when I can make choices, so don't worry Jam, this lil fan will always support you! Are you still singing for your OP? :D

Y-You're so evil Jam... e_e Now I see your true nature.. Umm.. I still watch any 'scary' or 'horror' movies you give me, but I'm sure I won't be able to close my eyes after that. To be honest, now I have that game Yume Nikki, and I'm still scared to play it (it says it's about a girl trapped in her dream world) and also I'm planning to watch Mirai Nikki soon. I've always followed about that anime but only now I got the chance to watch it.
As you can see, since it's holiday here, I'm on my anime mode, so I'm happy and bright :D Don't kill me with all these scary things...... *shivers*

You're going to be voicing sadako..? G-G-G-Good luck doing that. I'm sure not as brave as you, are you going to laugh like a kuntilanak too? If so, hide me from you ;__; No more scary games for me, no more, after Yume Nikki, that's the last... Wait, I have you.. NOOOO!!

Oh, also, I remember a story my friend told me. It was actually about a camera that can give you the photo instantly, it's not digital, that old fashion one, I forgot what's it was called. He went to a forest to go camping with his brothers, they took photo near a river. And when they got the picture, they saw a ghost with long hair covering her face with her hands on their head. They quickly burned the photo and he was afraid to use the camera again. xD

I'm never good at optical illusion @_@ Nothing happened to me (is a very unfocused person)

I believe in them, and have experienced some myself.
The worst of it happens to my brother though, since he had a twin which died....I think you can tell where this is going.

Anyways, the most major spiritual thing that happened to me was something dealing with my brother. He was just sitting down on my bed playing my PS2 while I was on the computer, when he was suddenly slammed down against the bed and seemed to be sinking. At that moment, his voice broke a bit and when he called for my help I swear it sounded like it was two people.

He kept shouting "The dogs are back" (There are these back dogs that only he can seen that have tried to drag him off God-knows-where before) Me panicking, I grabbed him and tried to pull him back up but was unable to. So what I did was grab him by the waist and try to pull him off the bed. The scary thing is that when I did that, I felt like my hands were on fire for a second. Once I did that, I pulled him off the bed at which point he went back to normal. I asked him what happened and he told me "Our brother tried to take me again."

That moment is still engraved into my memory; it's one of the reasons I don't doubt the existence of spirits.

@JustAnotherMe:
Yup, that's why I said spiritual things is heavily dependent on surrounding beliefs. That's why we (Easterners) have a very different spiritual things compared to Westerners. Personally, I think ours is far scarier that theirs... perhaps simply because we have far more believing cultures (even now, in this internet and space science age).

But still, I need to say this, not all strange things we experienced are supernatural. Sometimes it could be explained logically or we just simply seeing/hearing things.

I will agree, because ghosts in Eastern lore tend to be angry, or the vindictive. While in Western lore, most of the ghosts are simply sad or confused. Plus, Eastern ghosts tend to hunt people, while Western ghosts in lore generally ignore the living (besides creeping them out).

I agree. Sometimes (often, most of the time?) weird noises are just the wind, tree branches, or the creaking of an old house settling.

Or you know, maybe all this can be explained with science. They are supposed to be experimenting trying to discover alternate realities and dimensions with the Large Hadron Collider , right? Maybe what we think of as ghosts are just glitches or bleed over from an alternate earth that is out of time sync with our own. (Anyone see that Fringe episode?) Or maybe just like a radio has to be tuned a certain way to pick up transmissions and voices that are otherwise invisible and silent, maybe a persons brain has to be configured just so to see the phenomena we call ghosts. Maybe ghosts are simply some kind of imprint on the environment, like a groove scratched in the record of reality, with no actually spirit, soul, or consciousness attached in any way, and we are just watching the cosmic equivalent of a record skip repeating itself.

After all, a lot of what we thought was magic or supernatural in the past has been explained with science.

@Lumen: Ahh, I have many friends that can see those things. One of them who I think can really see them, usually just keep silent about it. She just doesn't want to attract the ghost by reacting too outrageous, she just keep calm, but I notice sometimes her eye keep on glancing at one place or she try too hard not to see at one side, or when she take seat at one palce too far from the whiteboard despite that she likes to sit in front. And always at the same classroom. She doesn't want to talk about it, but one day she tell me that because there are so much ghosts, but then she ask me not to react like there's one.

@Hana: urghh... because I'll need a child voice, I think I can't do that. Ugh... I hope there's someone who can sing in a child voice, or else I'll beg for my relative and I don't know if she want to help or not... Ahhh, I'm glad you like survival, because I'm planning to make an entire different scenario for this. Maybe include collecting items and solving a puzzle. Mehh, still don't know, too vague right now.

Gahahahha!! Luckily I'm not too evil that I want to destroy your giddy mood in this holiday. Ohhh, I can't wait for christmas!!! I've decorate my house already with a big christmas tree and lights everywhere!! XDDD Though I know I can't turn a blind eye for the exam... how I hate it... and my work is on holiday in 22nd while my school already on it at 19th... XF
I wanna play that too!! I hope I have the time TAT Even now, I have no time to relax and watch korean drama or dvd while eating chips and a big jar of cold mineral water. And a tissue XD.

Ah-ah-ah. Ehmm. Test one, test two. I hope I have a more decent mic than the one built up in my laptop... Hmmm... I don't know if I'll act as kuntilanak... but I've tried that and my friends keep begging not to hear it anymore. But I don't think it's good enough like my sadako voice. Oh! And maybe I'll act as a sobbing woman voice, or maybe a scream (I might get scolded if I shout like that in my house for no apparent reason...)

I have a friend who have those kind of experience with digital visual catcher like that, though it's a video cam. They all laughing, fitting a small car with 14 teenager. While he's record it, there's nothing wrong, just a plain usual visual. But when he put it in the computer and watch it... you know what happen... a distorted thin black woman, sitting backward in silent... I've watched it and feel the chill down my spine... It's not like any one of them have the ability to manipulate the video, not so real like that...

@Higurashi:... that's a one hell of experience... I guess I'm gonna believe in ghosts without doubt after experiencing that... Although I might check my brother to a psychologist first, just to see if there's nothing wrong with him. But... urgh... I don't know...

@LVUER: the only thing I could find the same in all country and culture about ghosts, is that they are all spiritual things, and tend to scare people. Not all. But the nature of them are scary. Well, being a ghost itself is scary I think.

@LateWhite: Yeah, that's why I don't easily believe something as a spiritual thing. But then again, not every spiritual things can be explained in logical way. I still don't know the reason why there's someone who can foresee the future, in someplace they don't know, for someone they don't know. Or like my friend, who hear God's voice and told him to go somewhere he doesn't know (he just heard... turn right, turn left, something like that, and then stop suddenly) to buy baby's milk and give it to the owner of the house he stopped by. And it turn out that owner is in need of a baby's milk because they can't afford for anymore food, even for them, and they was thinking to have suicide together. I mean, I don't know how to explain this.
