Re: What was the first visual novel you played?
If I remember correctly, the first Visual Novel I read was Fatal Hearts. (Without knowing what a VN was)
The Visual Novel that made me crazy about Vns is Little Busters! (I knew what a VN was at that time)
Little Busters! is also my first JVN I read.

The first VN... should be ace attorney , but seems that I played it when I was very small,
I got scared by it XDDDD
But later I found it is very fun to play ^^
And why I want to make a game...I think is because one of a magazine talking about people who make games themselves, and I was effected by them ,that's why I start to make one ^^

Re: What was the first visual novel you played?
The first VN I ever played was actually a Lemmasoft game called Dream Savior Gakuen several years ago. I had never heard of VNs before and thought it was the coolest thing at the time. It really inspired me to try making my own VN.
I used to stalk the forums for the sequel, too, but sadly it seems that it was abandoned...

Re: What was the first visual novel you played?
I'm new in this forum. But I at least have played several VNs.
The VN I read for the first time was Planetarian ~Chiisana hoshi no yume~ (Although that I didn't know that it's a kinetic novel until I made a search in wiki and google.) that was given from my relative as my 13th birthday.
Also, Planetarian is my favorite novel. I loves the idea of the knowledges about spaces, how we humans will do in the future, and hope.
when I reached the ending, I truly cried from the deep of my heart. (For real!!)
Now I'm going to finishes all of the games Key made. (Well, I'm not interested of the adult versions, so I just played the all-ages version.)

I think the first VN I ever played was Yo-Jin-Bo. It was hilarious, so I went and bought Date Warp, loved it, and from there I just kept playing more and more.

Go read/play VNs now.
Narcissu, True Remembrance, Fate/Stay Night, Planetarian, Umineko, Higurashi, Ever17... there are many good ones!

Re: What was the first visual novel you played?
I'm going to have to mention Clannad. Sheesh, I'm surprised. Two posts, and it's still not mentioned...
(All projects currently on a hiatus of sorts. I blame life.)
Tsundere VN
Not really checking the forums any more due to time constraints, so if you want to contact me, PM. I'll get a notification and log in.
Also, I've been hit and run posting, which means I don't see many replies. If you want to respond to something I've said, also feel free to PM me.
NOTE: if you've got questions about vnovel or things like that, it's Leon that you should be contacting. Leon's been pretty much handling everything, but due to various reasons, I've had to withdraw entirely.

Re: What was the first visual novel you played?
Narcissu and True Rememberance are much better for those getting introduced to VN's since they don't take a whole lot of time investment. F/SN, Clannad, and When They Cry are more for those who already know what they're getting into (WTC can still be good for beginners though since they are in chapter form. Of course, your mileage may vary)redeyesblackpanda wrote:I'm going to have to mention Clannad. Sheesh, I'm surprised. Two posts, and it's still not mentioned...

Re: What was the first visual novel you played?
It's not like I mentioned all VNs worth playing, and yeah I forgot to make mine noob-proof. I don't think Umineko is good to read first either, since the episodes are very long on their own.redeyesblackpanda wrote:I'm going to have to mention Clannad. Sheesh, I'm surprised. If you edit my example-list to make it more noob-friendly it would probably be something like... Narcissu, True Remembrance, Planetarian, OMGWTFBBQOTL, Saya no Uta (watch out very 18+ and horror), 999 and... maybe Memo? I haven't tried it yet but heard some good things. And you can just look around this forum for VNs as well.

Re: What was the first visual novel you played?
I'm not entirely sure if you'd count Radiant Historia for DS as a VN. It's pretty awesome~
My 1st Ren'Py VN was Katawa Shoujo. After I played the 1st time through, I found out there was a whole community that made games with the same engine, and you guys BLEW MY MIND.
So, while having that as my first game definitely has raised my expectations to a considerable degree for what I think is "quality", I also try to keep in mind the time it's taken to be made.

Re: What was the first visual novel you played?
...I feel really bad about it, but same here. And for some reason, even though it was fucked up in a lot of ways, I still played for all the endings. orzFungii wrote:....Enzai.
The first one I played that I really enjoyed, though, was probably Digital: A Love Story.
