I'm trying to calm myself down after playing Ib. What was I thinking, playing a horror game on Halloween? Q_Q I'm such a scaredy-cat... "OTL

Well, the sun's finally out where I live. (Sort of. There are still lots of clouds.) I don't live in Manhattan or anywhere near the water so we didn't get flooded, and the damage is minimal, but there's no telling when classes are going to start again because the MTA is just so screwed-up.

So basically everyone is just lazing around until then. >_>; Time to do some last-minute prep for NaNoWriMo, I guess...

It sucks when you sign up for one fairly simple project and suddenly it starts becoming bigger and bigger and the feature creeping starts and all of a sudden you have to start designing battle GUIs and over 60 item icons that take you forever...

Ah, the good old project creep xD In a way, I'm dealing with that a bit myself, except it's totally my own doing. I just finished a sprite for the main hero which contained 5 different body poses and for some of them I had different arm poses as well as head poses, plus gave them a bajillion expressions and room for outfit changes v_v Damn you Tales of Graces f for making me want to do this level of work! I'll have maybe 8 or so more of those to do plus like 50 normal sprites for minor characters throughout the game. Needless to say, I think I'm going to be foaming at the mouth by the end of completion.

I hope you don't have too much more to deal with, Deji. I hate GUI and other graphic work, myself. Is this the Evilot project you're working on? I'm actually really looking forward to that.

I'm finished with Evilot, except for one little thing I should get done somewhere before Sunday.
This is actually for a Visual Novel, and done in watercolor to top.

:D Don't worry. We'll be going to war with Iran, Russia and China really soon ^,^

also, women's rights will be questionable once again :O
I'm excited for WW3, personally Emperor Mittens sounds great. Women will have rights, they will be able to leave their jobs early to get home and cook dinner.

It has been a really rough day on my leadership class. Lots of bummed out people after test time. Late in the day, we our usual workout session playing dodgeball against the other classes. We've lost game after game. Finally, it was the final game. Four of us left against six. I give my inspirational speech, rally the troops, coordinate an attack plan on the spot. I finally see that spirit and determination that the day drained out of us. We press forward for a unified attack, that moment in all the movies where the underdogs turn it all around. We all charge forward and throw our balls in unison!

And they catch all 4 of them in unison. Game over. It was the final nail in the coffin of an absolutely awful day.

I'm back on the air, more or less. I'm near the main office of my company, with internet and heat - things lacking at my house.

Previously, I had internet through tethering, and laptop batteries - which work great until such time as the cell sites run out of power, cutting you off from the world.

Welp.

A girl's apparently batshit boyfriend came into her/my dorm to threaten to kill her. In the stairwell. That's like ~10 feet from my door.

And this is apparently the same guy who was already caught beating her in a car. In the middle of the day. In front of the dorm. (Cops were called)

And this is a girls-only dorm where you need an ID (coded to the building, since you live there) to get in.

Welp.

Sadly, it's not at all hard to get into ID-coded buildings. You wait for someone to be going that way and you follow them - nobody ever objects unless they work for security, they figure you belong there or are visiting someone. You can also wait for someone to be going OUT and then try to catch the door before it closes, but while this makes it slightly less likely you'll be seen it also makes you look more suspicious if someone does notice.

I spent a lot of years living and working on a college campus with keycarded doors.

This made me very happy to read, especially after a whole year of higher ups saying some of the most asshat comments I have ever read (Tomb Raider, Assassin's Creed, Borderlands :|). It's just nice to see developers steping up to address the problem instead of actively promoting it. http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/vi ... fetime-Ban

Back when I was in the dorm, we had homeless people who would break into our ID coded dorms to take showers, so it must be fairly easy.

So happy Halloween is about over :)

Glad to hear you're okay... I was worried about you :(

I hope everyone else is okay too...

We have this project in Filipino, where I have to watch one movie from the four movies given to us, then give a review. These are classics... but I watched this movie despite how boring it is, then I realized what I watched wasn't in the four movies.

I feel like bashing myself in the head for being super stupid not to look at the list before watching. Aaaaaagh
