At this point, I'd say stop trying to make them happy and keep improving yourself as an artist. They're obviously already accomplished in their fields, they ought to let you do what you want instead of imposing their views on you.
so many of us was against it because it so sudden, and one of the lecturer said "Do you want to be a super team? or a superman?" so we don't have a choice if we chose to be superman than we have to make the project alone but it it have to be equivalent like a super team 
If you can't do traditional animation, consider using Motion Comic techniques with digital art, or making it minimalist while emphasizing the audio.
