When I was in kindergarten, I really want to be a film director~ (after watching Titanic and other movies in the 90s) However, when I reached 12 years old, I started to dream to be an actor >.< But right now, I still want to be a director but NOT to be an actor. NEVER! (lol)

Does mine count? I mean, there HAS been a woman in the French Foreign Legion. One. So I guess it's not IMPOSSIBLE.

I'm also reminded that I wanted to apply to SCAD at one point. Until I saw how much it cost, that is, and said screw it. SCIENCE MAJOR! HOORAY! /shot

I recently aspired to become a pilot in the U.S Air Force, but with my deplorably bad eyesight, I have to rethink my goals. I dunno what I wanna do now.

Ahaha, yeah, I already have learned about a lot of the negative parts about working in the industry. I just had a lecture on it today, actually. There's no way I would throw out ideas and expect for them to turn into a best-selling game. When I have my own ideas for games... well, that's what Ren'py is for xD. That's why I decided to just get a minor in game development, instead of major in it... [I'm actually double majoring in Journalism and Japanese]. I'm just hoping to gather some development skills and work for an indie company or something ^^;;

I wanted to be a comic artist (mangaka). I kept want to be one until highschool and finally told my parents which they object very much. At that time I thought perhaps become a teacher is not so bad and at the same time considering to take an IT major. And so I took it, became a teacher, and currently pursuing to become a comic artist... life is surprisingly simple for me, huh?

Hmm, I remember when I was twelve specifically thinking "I don't want to grow up". Still think that to this day.

Also when I was about that age my teacher assigned story writing assignments, and although when I think about what I wrote for them was too much based on what I was watching at the time, I got a lot of praise for it. It's part of the reason why I wanted to write. :D

Doctor > Cardeologist > Graphic designer > RPG game designer > Graphic artist > Game programmer > Broadcast/newspaper journalist or a novelist.

Yeah, that's pretty much it. Before I dunno why I wanted to be a doctor; I guess it was because I had wanted to wear those cool white coats that doctors wear all the time. Then it became because I had wanted to operate my mother (since she has some heart disease or sth, her heart is pretty weak). It changed not because I don't wanna heal my mom, it's because I'm scared I might kill her off ;_;

Then all those graphic and designing stuff occurred to me because I want to work on games. Just games. But when I realized it can mean I can go on movies and working on them, I sorta backed out and just... well, wished to be a programmer. Then I had developed an interest in journalism, politics, stuff like that, writing for essays, stories, you know. I like listening to news reports even though sometimes I barely understand it, and listening to trials really feel so cool. :'D Writing stories also gives the same feeling. That's why all my classmates are staring at me everytime I wish there was an essay in our periodical test and everytime I write something like a novel for it.

Well, that can still change. I'm still fourteen. XDD

Lawyer > Concept Artist

I was fixed before that for many years on becoming an assassin. The back flipping, gun shooting ones with moves straight out of DMC, before unfortunate circumstances such as reality forced me to reconsider this lifetime goal of mine. I held onto being a lawyer since I was 13, convinced I could sue the hell out of anyone who offends me (The idea of evidence hadn't settle in yet), and when high school graduation came closer, I decided I'll really choose that after all. I knew by then I couldn't just walk around suing everybody, but I chose it more because I couldn't think of any other thing I'd like to do.

Then a friend of my fixed the idea in my head that I should consider doing art instead so... Yeah orz
I still think I'm not the material for it, but hey! I can always panhandle and offer (digital) portraits if everything doesn't work out! Fine Print : No refunds available if it resembles a pie more than you.

Currently in PreU though, and if nothing happens, I'll be headed to be a lawyer instead. I can't afford art school here, so... either I'll either get lucky and get a scholarship, or it's adios art dreams. XD

Well, that's a perfectly valid reason to me. 8)

My coworkers at my current job laughed at me when I told them I was considering becoming a chemist so I could go to work every day and see cute coworkers in glasses and laboratory coats EVERY DAY. (I'm not actually considering becoming a chemist, but that's still a nice dream :lol: )

I remember when I was really young I wanted to be an air hostess - I wanted to travel the world for, pretty much, free. But then my mum told me that I wasn't pretty enough to be one, so...end of that. I also got scared by watching a film where the aeroplane hit really bad turbulence and an air hostess didn't get back to her seat in time and ended up getting thrown halfway down the plane.
For the next few years or so, I hit rock bottom since I had no idea what I wanted to be. I think I vaguely remember when I went through a phase of wanting to be a vet my mum told me that I was too careless to be a pharmacist or doctor, but then I decided against that idea because I didn't want to go through putting down animals, etc.
I then watched CSI and since I was about 13 I've wanted to do something with Forensics Science. I'm 17 now, so it's still pretty recent I suppose. However, seeing as I've got one year until university (more or less), my parents suggest taking a chemistry degree with forensic science to open up my career choices. But, having Asian parents, I haven't told them that I secretly want to do something within the entertainment industry. Personally, I believe I could be a comedian. True facts. *shot*

...what DIDN'T I want to be?

I can't remember what I wanted to be as a very little child, but I think it was usually biology orientated. I did really like rocks, so it probably did have something to do with geology for a while. I read children's encyclopedias for fun so I'm sure I wanted to pretty much be anything I read, which... uhh... still remains true. I've always loved animals so I know for a time I wanted to be a vet, then I found out that I'd need to put down animals and got sad. Then, I visited the Baltimore aquarium and fell in love with manatees and like many girls, wanted to become a marine biologist. The only difference is that I'm not obsessed with dolphins or whales. I like the ugly animals.

I read The Hot Zone and wanted to work in a level 4 disease lab. Then, I got into reading Michael Crichton books and pretty much got all my inspiration from there. I wanted to be a pathologist, an archaeologist, back to a marine biologist, a disease researcher... again! I finally settled for child psychology, went to school for that for a couple years, and dropped out temporarily after realizing how tied in psychology was getting with neurology and psychoactive drugs. Oh, and for a while I wanted to be an FBI agent like Mulder ;) I think my parents gave me a little too much self esteem in the "You can be whatever you want when you grow up" department. It creates a lot of anxiety because deep down I think to myself "I like too many things. I can't do them all and there are no save points in life v_v" It's pretty sad, actually, but I know I'm not the only one with that problem. Thankfully, I think I've finally decided on the vet route after I sucked up the killing animals part after having a family dog be put down because of a severe stroke. Sometimes you need to do the hard thing, which I'm really not good at. I think my life would be easier if I wasn't such a coward at a young age ^^;

I can't remember much of a specific childhood career desire. There was a period where I thought I should be a priest. (Episcopalian, my gender wasn't an issue.) Otherwise, if people asked me what I wanted to be, I gave smartass responses of whatever the most obscure thing I'd ever heard of was, because it amused me to confuse them.*

Mostly I think as a kid I was much more interested in learning everything than in thinking about a future career, which is part of why I had such a massive stress breakdown in college when I realised that I was actually going to have to stop being a student eventually.

* - Same reason that when presidential elections rolled around, I told my classmates I supported the Libertarian candidate. Not that I had a clue who the Libertarian candidate was or what Libertarianism was really, but it was a party that existed and they'd never heard of it. ... I was kinda annoying, wasn't I?

I wanted to be a Systems Analyst because they made more money than a Computer Programmer. (I saw it on a pamphlet about becoming a computer programmer)

Right now I'm a Systems Specialist - So I guess I'm pretty close. :)

I wanted to make things, but I didn't find the right name for the profession I want to be in. The names of artist, game designer, painter, book illustrator, book cover illustrator, comic book artist, author and just about everything else that relates to creation came up.
