Diablo III - Who plays it?

#1 Post by Gear » Thu May 17, 2012 2:38 pm

My fiancé downloaded it and said, "Try it out. If you like it, I'll buy you a copy for your machine." So one day while he was at work, I tried it.

OMG.

I never played Diablo I or II, so it was all new to me. But I picked up that male wizard (the fact that he was voiced by Crispin Freeman only made it that much more fun) and I went to town, hitting level five within two hours of just killing crap. I love it.

Anyone else play? I think it'd be fun to team up when I get my own battlenet account (probably tonight). Also, any tips for the new guy?
The best reason to get up in the morning is to outdo yourself: to do it better than you've ever done it before. But if you haven't done it better by nightfall... look at your globe and pick a spot: it's always morning somewhere.

I play... The Demon Hunter has a serious attitude. Suggestions? If you happen to have a meatshield, use it to best advantage, and hold your shift key down whilst firing to keep from diving into swarms of Chaotic Hungries. Let the meatshield take the brunt of the damage.
I'm going to get off my soap-box now, and let you get back to your day.

Academy Daze- Back in production! Complete with ecchi-ness ;)

I don't play, since I never played Diablo II as a kid (I was a Starcraft/AoE girl) but my boyfriend just got his collector's edition :)

By the way, Crispin Freeman is his favorite VA and he didn't know he was in the game, so thanks for letting us know

I played Diablo II a couple of months back, didnt like it, not my type of game, and I also played the Diablo III Beta, but once again its not my type of game, I' more of a FPS gamer, I'm more looking forward to Black Ops 2 or The Last of Us...

I was a huge huge fan of Diablo II, so I'm going to try and get III as soon as I can scrape up enough money. :>
Will be pinching pennies for the next few weeks...

I played the original Diablo back in the day. (Where is my cane...?) Never really got into the second one, but I decided to pick up the third on a whim. I'm enjoying the monk so far. Not sure if I'm going to stick with it due to time constraints from other demands on my time. The auction house is making this the easiest game in the world, so I worry it will soon lose its appeal (to me).

Oh dear lord

It's the thing that's separating me and my boyfriend right now haha just kidding

But when he first played it he was like "This is nothing like Diablo 2! You can't customize stats and everyone's just a generic character!" etc,etc

Next day, he's still playing it.

"I thought you didn't like it?"
"I just wanna finish the storyline. This game still sucks grumble grumble I'm gonna keep playing now"

I would buy it and give it a go, but then I would have to fight my brother for my computer and he's stronger than me ;_;

I played around with it a little bit in the closed beta. I'm not sure how I feel about it. Perhaps I don't like hack and slash games as much. I played as a female wizard and really loved the cc abilities, though. I did wait outside with my husband for like four hours to get his copy for the midnight release. We were the first in line. Unfortunately the point was pretty much moot as many of you know with the servers not working properly and everything >____________> At least it wasn't freezing outside like the Skyrim and WoW: Cataclysm releases.

I'll probably play once he stops for a while, which if it's like Diablo 2, won't be for about four or five years. The nice thing is it'll make us some income with the auction house, I guess. He's obsessed with grinding and farming. Plus he leaves me alone now to get plenty of work done :D Win win!

I'm surprised anyone waited outside for hours for a game you can just download...

We got the collectors edition :p He really wanted to see the cinematics in high def on a large tv before playing the game. However, I am unsure of the motives of people who didn't preorder that.

I actually walked into town at the 00.00 AM release because my bike was stolen (that very same day) and it took me about 1,5 hours. Allthough I have already predownloaded it. And yes it was collectors edition. :)

Oh, and lets not forget. It was raining.
