Help me with my mouse? Fav art program? Boy or girl?

Hello. A few questions~:
Last question in the thread first, of course. ( )
I've been seeing that a lot of the frequent posters on here tend to be girls, but I'm not sure if that's just a feeling I get or a fact. So, are you a boy or a girl?

Question twoooo:
What art program do you use or find the easiest to use? A lot of people probably use photoshop, but I use the Gimp.

• 1: I don't have extra money, and
  2: I... just actually prefer it. So win-win, right?

But what other programs to you use?

Question three~:
I like to use my mouse for drawing on the computer. I got a tablet once, but I didn't get the hang of it...
Since I liked to do pixel art when I was younger using MS Paint, I grew used to drawing with my mouse.
Anyway~ my mouse has been really weird lately. Sometimes I'll click on something and it simply wont click, sometimes it does click, sometimes instead of clicking, it double clicks.
I tried to draw with it but it totally doesn't work
I don't know if it's just my mouse, since I switched my mouse for another one laying around the house and there were the same (or very, VERY similar) problems.
What do you suggest I do? It would be a pain to learn how to draw with my lap top's pad. Worst case scenario, I use my lap top's mouse buttons to click while I position everything with the mouse, but that wouldn't be too good either. I'd really like to be able to work more on my project's art work, and I'd like to know if I can fix it somehow before I just get a new mouse all together. any help?

I'm a girl. I use photoshop mostly. My boyfriend is a pro and he likes to use Manga Studio, (and photoshop too).

I highly suggest to keep playing around with the tablet. It has kind of a strange learning curve, but once you get the hang of it, it is a LOT more efficient for doing large projects. Maybe try to do most of your internet surfing with it for a while to practice. It is really just about reconfiguring your hand eye coordination.

I'm a girl. And I like using Paint tool SAI for lineart and coloring (Manga studio for sketching ) and I don't like Photoshop (Because my laptop got many problems with it, so troublesome ). And what's wrong with using laptop's touch pad? I use it all the time. Actually, because I don't have a tablet and I can't use the mouse because of some problems so I have to get use to the touch pad. And after a short time, laptop's touch pad became my friend, now I'm a little afraid of using mouse ^^". But you have a tablet, so I think, just like me, you'll get use to that tablet soon. I'm a girl.

I used Paint Tool SAI for almost everything from sketching, lineart to coloring. I also used Photoshop to edit the picture afterward (if it's a CG then I will add some light affect in there and things like that) I recommend using the tablet because it's faster and easier if you have a big project ahead of you. Get use to it is not a problem, you just have to be patient, that's all.

Um it depends, as of late I use at least three different programs for different things. I use SAI for sketch and sometimes line art and color most for sprites. I have Manga Studio EX 4 for line art and I use photoshop for coloring and resizing.

It does take time to get use to a tablet, that is to say you can use a mouse instead if you like. Sadly I do not have a mouse I have a touch pad ( most painful experience in my life when I lost my tablet pen and had to do my arts with it orz...... ). Anyways, good luck.

Hey, it looks like I've run into a problem. I downloaded a version of Paint tool SAI, and it won't let me use the tablet only when it's open. I can use the tablet anywhere else, though :/ What do you guys think about this?

Apparently, never mind. I downloaded a version from a different site and it's working perfectly now.
It says "1 Trial day" at the top of it, though. So I guess I won't have it for long...
