If so, for what reasons?

Well, brofisto's My Little Pony - Road to PONYVO had its download link deleted for being a seizure inducing troll game. I can't recall any other game being deleted from the forums, although, admittedly, I haven't been keeping up with the completed games section much recently. As for the Ren'Ai Archives, I don't follow it, but I'd imagine that some games may be deleted, since it's a lot more strict on the "no copyright infringement" thing.

IIRC, there was one other game - I forget the title - that we had to take down because the creator had misled an underage collaborator into making an adult game.

We've taken down links to games in cases where the game is programmed to try and take over the user's computer, and also in cases where the game was infected by a virus.

We've also closed WiP threads when it's become clear that the thread is consuming a lot of forum resource without having even the slightest chance of becoming a completed game.

I'm not sure if this is exhaustive, but it's pretty close. In general, we try to avoid destroying content - while I might move games to the adult section, I think the only reason to remove them entirely would be because the game was somehow against US law. (For example, because it violated copyright, or because it contained actual child porn.)

Thank you! That was very informative.

Just one final q: Does violating copyright mean all fanfic type work are off-limits?

Cause reference to MyPony sounds like if not troll job, it would have stayed.

I'm not familiar with US law or any law though. Heard fair use brought up before but never really sure where that line is drawn for non-parodies.

On second thought, scratch previous Q.

I don't think it's fair to dilly dally after exhaustive answer like that.

I made thread cause it looks like I'm not going to be done with VN for Worst VN ever thread. No biggie, I didn't plan to participate on deadline anyway.

...but seems like Worst VN is going to be annual event where people have fun.

I worry that my work would "down" the enthusiasm cause it's not exactly parody but I believe it is really worse and I'm banking on yet "un-drawn" controversial sex scene to save my butt from people thinking there's worse but it's not only adult game, it's fanfic (that I can easily change names on and disguise as original if problems arise) and it's also controversiably written (the process of which I won't reveal until game is completed cause it might create unnecessary drama).

We remove fanfic works on request by the copyright holder. The same thing occurs with other forms of copyright violation, like using a copyrighted song in another game - we're not required to be proactive about such a thing, so we aren't.

But if a rightsholder asks us to remove it, and there's not a damn good fair use case to be made, then we'll fold like a house of cards.
