Hm... It probably didn't say that (if only because of the way Python is spelled). Please take a screenshot of the error and attach it to a post here, maybe the full error message will get some screenshots. You should also make sure python23.dll is around, and that you don't have extra copies of it.

You are right, pyTom, the error said:"The specified module wasn't found. LoadLibrary(pythondll) failed."

The python23.dll is in the zip. And there isn't another copy of it.

Is it in the same directory as the exe? Also, which OS are you running?

You do need to extract python23.dll for Ren'Py to work. The one that ships with Ren'Py 5.5.6 is 974,915 bytes long.

I'll try to unzip python23.dll first and then the rest. Also, thanks for the help! :)

I unziped the python23.dll first. Then when I extracted everything else a window appeared asking me if i wanted to replace some files; I answered yes then I tried to run the game and this appeared in a Note:

A few questions to help us understand what's going on :

- Which games have this problem? (name them)
- What are you using to uncompress the files ? (Winzip, winrar, 7zip, Windows XP native interface?) And also, how do you proceed ? (double click the zip file, right click on it and choose an option?...)
- Can you open the zip files and see what's inside? I noticed many recent releases (demos) don't include Ren'Py, just the game files... others include Ren'Py and shouldn't be uncompressed in an existing Ren'Py folder.

What I find strange is that it asks you to overwrite files...

That part where it's asking you to overwrite files suggested to me that it was a problem where the folder structure in the zip was being ignored - you get this if you open a zip with winzip but then select and drag all the files out of the main window instead of choosing 'extract all', for instance.

But then, the last error message given suggests that there's some folder structure in the game directory.

Which files did it want to overwrite?

Jake was right. The selected all the items and the drag them to another directory. The message that make you think that there was some folder's structure appear AFTER I drag them. I just extracted the files and the problem was solved. THANKS TO ALL! :D
