Worst/Creative Places to Be Trapped?

#1 Post by teacup »

I suddenly had an urge to make an 'escape' type game, but I am having trouble deciding on the most important thing: the setting.
Can you guys help me brainstorm some creative places that several people could be trapped in together? This place should preferably be a place that would be creepy in the dark or just creepy in general. But it doesn't have to be a small space by any means.
The things I've already thought of are:
-An elevator
-Cruise ship and amusement park are out, since I already know of 2 'escape' stories that use those settings (999 and Ever17, respectively)
-A hospital
-A mall
The place I'm leaning towards using is a mall/shopping centre, because when you think about it, being trapped in a place that is always lively could be really scary! Seeing a place that is normally full of people being barren and desolate... creepy, right?
So my question to you: What is the worst (or most creative) place you can think of to be trapped in?
I'm sorry if a thread like this has been made... I searched for one, honest!!

A cave.
A forest.
A deserted town.
An island.
A basement.
An abandoned luntic asylum.

An abandoned prison.
An empty school.
A cemetery.
A morgue.
An empty police station.
A hotel.
An airplane.

Ah, a dressing/locker room belonging to the opposite gender.

That'd be very thrilling frightening indeed. 8)

Underground caverns might work too.

Coffin(lol), a home/place where an entire family/group of people was/were brutally murdered, a spaceship(because you can never really get off).

I've been in a few 999 roleplays, and one that really hit home for me was on an airship.
Air ships aren't typically thought of.
(I'm gonna kiss you while I cry over Clover siblings soon so you might want to run)

Also, a cave perhaps?

Ah, I suppose a slaughterhouse/meatpacking plant might be frightening too. All those dead animals hanging on hooks, blood spilled on the floors, etc.

Oh god. That kinda reminds me of the game that the creators of Amnesia are making. Slaughter of the Pigs or something? loool.

I was thinking about airplanes, but they would need someone piloting it. :x Or it could be on auto-pilot?? Or be piloted by ghosts or something.

Ooh, keep 'em coming guys! :D (Being trapped in a slaughterhouse would be my worst nightmare... shudder)
Another one I thought of was an airport. Imagine getting dropped off at an empty airport (with only the people who were on the plane as your company)... and then you discover... the windows and doors are not the usual glass, but have been covered with something unbreakable?! Maybe it's because I have a phobia of airplanes (lol) but I think being trapped in a big, dark airport would be frightening. And who the heck was flying the plane?!

I find desolate areas very scary, where you might be perpetually lost. The desert, the Arctic (or antartica), the middle of the ocean, even space, very scary.

Mmm... If I'm not mistaken, airplanes can fly on auto pilot mode for a long time. If the pilot him/herself is disguised among the trapped
people it could be an interesting idea.

What about a subway station? I always found subways to be frightening.

- a toilet/bathroom (at least you can take a dump when locked in for too long) OR public toilet (where you have multiple stall of toilets).
- your own house/apartment (wait, they already did that in Silent Hill the Room).
- a deserted isolated village
- a library

¤ Your friend's house. Maybe it's the day you realised he/she is a ghost/monster/robot/etc. :-P
¤ A train. And you're the only one in your cart.

That's all I can think of right now, 4:30 in the morning. Orz

You're trapped... in someone else's clothing... because you've shrunk. That's not all though... DUST MITES! (Maybe it's too late here as well?)
