When that happens to me, I usually have an over-the-top reaction to it so that they know I stumbled upon it on accident... even if it wasn't on accident. >__>;; *cough*TrickWithAKnife wrote:Not exactly. Maybe some of us are totally okay being seen viewing partial nudity, or very suggestive content, but I would be surprised if everyone you know would be so open-minded about it.
It's not prudish to have some kind of warning that a topic may contain content that could get you fired if you view it at the wrong place.

Re: About VNs and 18+ subforums
If you read the entire thread, you'd see that has already been brought up and addressed. Topics and threads with mature content will have [Mature] in the title. And even then, no NSFW content would be in the threads. The entire point is to advertise mature games in the main board to general audiences, just like R-Rated movies and naked-fests like Game of Thrones and True Blood advertise to all audiences in a work-safe way.TrickWithAKnife wrote: Not exactly. Yes, the occasional picture that is too raunchy is likely to appear, and the admins will have to remove it, or ask the OP to. But it's a step in the right direction. It isn't meant for porn games in the main board. It is meant for mature games with adult content or nude scenes or situations, that previously had to be condemned to the porn ghetto because a character gets naked at some point.
So, don't click a topic with [Mature] in the title when at work or with others around if you don't want to risk a creator not being work-safe enough for you. But the point is you'll see those games EXIST, and if you can see that, hey, they have 200 views and 8 pages of replies, it might be good, and you'll check it out later. At least it will be on your radar. Otherwise, you would have been unlikely to ever hear of it, just like most people that don't frequent the hentai board.

I'm not quite sure? Was this resolved with the mod staff? I'm not sure where there is a news post regarding the new regulation.

I'm waiting at least an alternative name of that current forum... Anytime I read that word, it distracts my concentration (´・ω・`)

So, 2/3 changes done. We're doing some final tweaks to the new rule, and we'll post it tomorrow. Sorry for the delay, but given that this is a sensitive issue, we wanted to get it right, rather than fast.
(I always thought "Hentai" was less explicit then "Adult", simply because mundanes don't know what it means.)

You'd be surprised how much mundanes know just from sheer exposure on the 'net.PyTom wrote:So, 2/3 changes done. We're doing some final tweaks to the new rule, and we'll post it tomorrow. Sorry for the delay, but given that this is a sensitive issue, we wanted to get it right, rather than fast.

Not really checking the forums any more due to time constraints, so if you want to contact me, PM. I'll get a notification and log in.
Also, I've been hit and run posting, which means I don't see many replies. If you want to respond to something I've said, also feel free to PM me.
NOTE: if you've got questions about vnovel or things like that, it's Leon that you should be contacting. Leon's been pretty much handling everything, but due to various reasons, I've had to withdraw entirely.

Re: About VNs and 18+ subforums
On behalf of the administration, I've posted the new adult content rule on the rules thread, and I'll also post it here:
12.) Adult Content
Threads containing adult content must be placed in the adult sections of the forum.
a) Adult content includes - but is not limited to - explicit sexual activity, depictions of sexual nudity, and extreme gore. The forum administration may enforce an expanded definition that matches their sense of what adult content is. Censored depictions of adult content remain adult content.
b) This restriction is applied to the content of the threads, rather than the content of the game under discussion. We allow the discussion of an adult game in a non-adult thread, as long as the discussion itself remains non-adult. Direct links to adult downloads or images should be placed in the adult section.
c) Adult games must have an adult thread before any non-adult threads are created. This is to provide the forum administration with a place to move adult posts to.
I do ask that people use a little discretion when posting threads about adult games - especially adult WIPs - in the main forum. The big thing we're looking for is if people can have a conversation about the game without touching in detail upon the adult portions. That's possible for some of our adult games, and not for others.
If you have any doubt about what is and isn't acceptable, post here or PM the administration group, and we'll hash it out with you.
Thanks for everyone who's contributed to this discussion so far - we took your input into account, and I think it led to us developing the right policy. (Especially LWR for getting me thinking about a per-thread solution, and Samu for looking into the legality of thinks for me.)

Oh, and since I know this question will be coming: yes, you may recruit people for making adult games in our open Recruitment forum as long as your Recruitment thread stays free of adult content itself.
