Um, needs mental support...

#1 Post by chisa-chan » Thu Feb 01, 2007 3:00 am

Hello everyone, well, I doubt if bringing this to this forum won't help much, but well. I'll get to the point...

Really, I wonder what will you do when you're angered so you can calm down quickly...I don't know why, but lately I'm so short-tempered and is often to get depressed...and I've messed up so many times. Do you have any tips for this?

I need your help, now....My friends and family don't help much...

play some sports, do some housework, watch a good light comedy anime, play a fighting game, talk about your problems with the people closest to you... and if all else fails, try finding something soft and give it a good hard punch.

basically, just don't take life too seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway.
How do you make your games? I see. Thank you for the prompt replies, but it is my considered opinion that you're doing it wrong inefficiently because I am a perfushenal professional. Do it my way this way and we can all ascend VN Nirvana together while allowing me to stroke my ego you will improve much faster. Also, please don't forget to thank me for this constructive critique or I will cry and bore you to death respond appropriately with a tl;dr rant discourse of epic adequately lengthy proportions. - Sarcasm Veiled in Euphemism: Secrets of Forum Civility by lordcloudx (Coming soon to an online ebook near you.)

Hmm....maybe the others are good. Thanks lordcloudx!

Hmm... for me, whenever I get into a bad mood I find that playing music helps. It doesn't have to be any particular song... just something rhythmic that involves some energy on your part. Most of the time, I just find myself strumming the guitar as hard as I can over and over again with just changing the chords now and then to soothe my mind. Playing gospel songs also helps channel the negative nervous and frustrated energy back into positive output, from my experience.

Alternatively, if you can't play any music, try just sitting on a swing and trying to go as high as you can. Something rhythmic to calm your mind, that involves using up energy to calm your body.

Sport is always good. Whatever sport you feel like. Running is easiest to get organized anytime, e.g. in the evening or morning, and if you're in a bad mood it can even be done alone. :)

One thing that has worked for me is writing (or typing) my feelings down, just to get them out of my head... and I've found that spending that time concentrating on doing that (and just tearing it up or deleting it afterwards) helps me to not think so much about it in the future.

Perspective helps. Just taking a look at the news and seeing things that really deserve your anger, can dull it when it comes to more trivial matters. ^_^

Going outside and gazing up into the sky helps me sometimes.

I find that either watching a Miyazaki movie or listening to the music from them (by Joe Hisaishi) has honest-to-God emotional healing powers. If you can watch or listen alone and without interruption, even better :)
Will you stay here for a while, dear, 'til the radio plays something familiar?

Try do stuff you enjoy, as it is proven that doing one interest can kill stress rather quick. Or try to forget the problem if it is a minor one. If you messed for the day, there is always tomorrow for a better day. :)

If anything fails, try eating a bucket of ice creams. It is also diagnosed that most of the time one is ill-tempered due to an empty stomach. Just keep a normal diet around, though. :P

I do too, but sometimes oversleeping is a sign of depression, and if you're talking about recurring depression, then it's not always a good thing to do. ^^;

Also, to make this post relevant: I usually draw when I get depressed, personally. Everyone has their own ways of overcoming depression, though, and even as a person diagnosed with depression myself, I can speak for myself alone. But I usually draw or do something I really enjoy when I get depressed. Play games, write, watch anime, stuff like that. ^^

Chisa-chan, I hope you are okay. I keep hearing about flooding in Jakarta. Not sure if Bandung has been hit or not. Hopefully, you and your family are safe.
